White House Press Secretary Jay Carney says the NRA's ad is "repugnant and cowardly." Setting aside the irony of a Quaker school with armed guards, do you suppose Jay thinks it is "repugnant and cowardly" for Sidwell Friends School to be advertizing to fill a vacancy for armed guards? Armed guards are a routine part of exclusive high dollar private schools in big cities like Washington. And the elite demand nothing less. But don't you dare protect your kids!
For those outside the beltway, Sidwell Freinds is fameously where the Clintons sent, and Obamas send, their children to school. Tuition is $34,268 per year, plus fees. In DC, a Special Police Officer is a private security guard, licenced by the city, who is authorized to cary a weapon.

Sidwell Friends School, a coeducational Quaker day school located in the Tenleytown area of Washington, DC, is seeking a full-time Special Police Officer.
The ideal candidate will have above average computer skills and knowledge to assist security officers with security systems, reports on line, access control systems, video retention, camera surveillance and training of officers on maximum computer use for daily activities.
Applicants must have a current SPO license; have the ability to pass criminal background checks & drug/alcohol testing. The ideal candidate will have the ability to write clear concise reports, prepare preliminary investigative reports, as well as interview witnesses, suspects & victims.
This is a full-time hourly position which include free parking, lunch and an attractive benefits package, with retirement plan inclusive of employer match.

I wonder if they have to have a clearance? I know they have to have special training from the VA Commonwealth CJ services and license to even carry a weapon to be an armed guard...I wonder if POTUS could even pass the background to get hired on??? Doesn’t matter - if he can make magic coins he can make permits and special clearances...right?

Just as in the soviet union, there is here a ruling elite that makes laws but exempts itself from them. It gives itself special privileges, such as armed guards, elite schools, inflation-adjusted salary, insurance and pension, but scorns the people who work to pay for these perks.

Exactly the problem with the NRA commercial.
Instead of “targeting” Obama and Obama’s children, NRA should have emphasized that THIS school, Sidwell, is ALWAYS protected with armed guards-—regardless of any particular year when a president’s children are in residence and entitled to customary and special protection.

Also, I thought Quaker's were into this non-violence nonsense. Why are they hiring armed guards? Don't they believe "nonviolent confrontation of evil and peaceful reconciliation are always superior to violent measures". They should be hiring counselors to talk would be crazy gunman out of killing people.
I am completely offended by that little tiny boot licker. It is repugnant to me that Jay grew up in the lap of security of the United States of American, and will whore himself out to a power elite, for a little bit of money and power, to trash a good country and the people who kept his safe.

The private school that the Obama’s daughters went to in Chicago also had armed guards. Guns for me but not for thee.
