MILWAUKEE—Nearly as many Americans die from guns as from car crashes each year. We know plenty about the second problem and far less about the first. A scarcity of research on how to prevent gun violence has left policymakers shooting in the dark as they craft gun control measures without much evidence of what works. That could change with President Barack Obama's order Wednesday to ease research restrictions pushed through long ago by the gun lobby. The White House declared that a 1996 law banning use of money to "advocate or promote gun control" should not keep the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other federal agencies from doing any work on the topic.

Yes, of course. It is another excuse to waste money by funneling it to liberal organizations. The "research" performed will no-doubt support the administration's position (and that of other national socialists) that more gun control, more government infringement of our rights, less freedom, is better.
In other words it'll be global warming research with bullets, or green energy with flash suppressors.
There’s been plenty of research into gun violence - Dr. John Lott has published all sorts of studies and books on the subject - but since the gun haters don’t like the findings, we’re going to give money to some other researchers who’ll come up with the outcomes they want......

No No you’ve missed nothing...the big story today is Manti Te’o and his NON-STORY that has every swinging talking head salivating over nonsense while terrorist are (whups, I forgot, Obama said they were on the run....)showing renewed strength....what planet does Obama, Jarret, Clinton, Axelrod, Panetta....what planet are they on? One of the favorite tricks the “professional” journalists like to use is mixing “homicide” rates with “murder” rates. Murder is always a homicide, homicide is not always a murder. If a person shoots a person committing a crime, it is a homicide even if it is a cop. The libs need to be called on this BS
There's quite a bit of research that's been done. As one poster here pointed out, John Lott's books and research. But that doesn't support your lib, leftist ideology. So it doesn't count.
