While Barack Obama's America limps along economically, North Dakota has been booming: "The rich shale oil formation deep below the rolling pastures here has attracted droves of young men to work the labor-intensive jobs that get the wells flowing and often generate six-figure salaries," the New York Times reports from Williston.
But not all is well in the Peace Garden State, which turns out to be a place where the men are men and the women are nervous: "Many [local women] said they felt unsafe. Several said they could not even shop at the local Walmart without men following them through the store. Girls' night out usually becomes an exercise in fending off obnoxious, overzealous suitors who often flaunt their newfound wealth."

Hubby works up there on the oil fields and the article is about right...except that it doesn’t tell the whole story which would include all the gold diggers and prostitutes who’ve gone up to ND to see what they can get from the men.
When I was in the Navy, I knew not to go out when a ship was in port. It looks like the young women in ND are dealing with the same problem.
It’s annoying.

You’re far too easy to come by - About $200 for the finest of you is about right. Two dinners, two movies and a walk in the park and off come the panties.

Those dirty sexist roughnecks! It’s a boomtown and I wish I was 30 years younger, I’d go there for work. I tried to get my 21 year old high school dropout unemployed grandson to head out there, but he would rather play video games and pocket pool with his loser pals.

It sounds like it is about time for a “Paint Your Wagon” -type caper in North Dakota.
Many women have been influenced to the worst by the rise of “Feminism.” One element of “Feminism” invites women to assume masculine traits. By assuming masculine traits women find themselves treated as junior men. What normal male would want “one of the boys” as a lover or mate?

Same with a bunch of my nephews. Even better, they’re know-it-alls. They’ll tell you everything that’s wrong with the world, whether you want to hear it or not.
If I were 20 or so younger and wasn’t gainfully employed and making decent money and single, I would have gone out there years ago.
I know plenty of losers too and can’t stand them either.
I had a geography professor once tell me that you can tell how much it costs to get a girl on her back, anywhere in the world.
It is basically 10 x a haircut.
So if a haircut is $15 in your area, then it’s $150.
Is this true?
I cant figure it out as my wife wont let me investigate this.
Even women who aren't "in the trade" make big bucks.
And this phenomenon isn't limited to North Dakota. I have relatives who live along the highline in Montana and they say the same things. Now that ND is where the moolah is, they have all kinds of rough guys passing through (or worse, staying) in town that scare the locals.
Clever Scam - taking advantage of older men
Women often receive warnings about protecting themselves at the mall and in dark parking lots, etc. This is the first warning I have seen for men. I wanted to pass it on in case you haven’t heard about it. This will only become more commonplace as the weather warms.
A ‘heads up’ for those men who may be regular Lowe’s, Home Depot, or Costco customers. This one caught me by surprise.
Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. Simply going out to get supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic. Don’t be naive enough to think it couldn’t happen to you or your friends.
Here’s how the scam works:
Two seriously good-looking 20-something girls come over to your car as you are packing your shopping into the trunk. They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts. It is impossible not to look. When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say ‘No’ and instead ask you for a ride to McDonalds.
You agree and they get into the back seat. On the way, they start undressing. Then one of them climbs over into the front seat and starts crawling all over you, while the other one steals your wallet.
I had my wallet stolen June 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on the 15th, 17th, 20th, 24th, & 29th. Also July 1st & 4th, twice on the 8th, 16th, 23rd, 26th & 28th, three times last Monday and very likely again this upcoming weekend.
So tell your friends to be careful. What a horrible way to take advantage of older men. Warn your friends to be vigilant.
Wal-Mart has wallets on sale for $2.99 each. I found cheaper ones for $1.99 at K- Mart and bought them out. Also, you never will get to eat at McDonalds. I’ve already lost 11 pounds just running back and forth to Lowe’s, Home Depot, and Costco.
So true! Not at all attractive.
