LOL - you call them lazy and then whine about namecalling? Really?

Take a step back and read to yourself what you just said. ;)

It is a boomer program

No, Social Security is not a boomer program.

I think that is it. I guess I’m at the end of the boomer years. I never faced the draft, for example. My perspective, and my post, is in the context of me as a boomer. It been a good time to be alive.

“So you are a whiney kid? A member of the Obama voting generation?”

Last I checked, boomers voted for Obama in 2008. I believe we’ve had this argument before since you’re under the delusion that Boomers aren’t supportive of Obama.

Here’s something to chew on - whites under 35 voted the same way as whites over 65 on Obama. So, no. I’m not a member of the ‘Obama generation’.

Then when did Boomers vote against it?

If you’re recipients of it, then yes, you’re a part of it.

No, but your generation of Americans voted 66% for Obama, and you good people overwhelmingly supported him this time.

When your generation takes over, America ends.

After getting wiped out by staggering medical debt, my family is finally on a savings path again. No money left for college for the kids; they are on their own.

I will do as my great-grandparents did - work till the day I die.

Did you miss the fact that White Americans under 35 voted for Obama at the same rate as those over 65?

And overwhemingly against Obama?

HUH? when has there been a vote on Social Security?

As part of the most leftist generation in history, what is your generation’s role in policy?

“Then when did Boomers vote against it?”

Please point out when we could have voted against it. We weren’t born when it was enacted.

Too, please point out when we could have voted against Medicare. We were too young to have voted against it.

“If you’re recipients of it, then yes, you’re a part of it.”

Good Lord! We were forced to pay into it, and we’ve been forced to receive it. Had I had a choice, I wouldn’t have had anything to do with it.

As a matter of fact, my husband and I recognized in the 80s that it wasn’t viable, and have lived our lives as though we won’t receive one friggin’ penny from it.

I suggest you do the same.

There isn’t an age gap- there’s a race gap. Presumably because white boomer Americans aborted their kiddos off.

When you were in the military fighting these two wars, did you harp on the race of your fellow American GIs of your generation?

“Please point out when we could have voted against it.”

Anytime in the last 24 years of Boomer presidents, anytime since 1992. Where is the overwhelming Boomer outcry against social security? It’s nonexistant. You keep assuming that you have no power to shape and influence policy - when you have been the ones shaping and influencing policy for the last 24 years.

Why was it not brought up for a vote in the last 24 years? Because Boomers, on the whole, overwhelmingly support SS and oppose SS reform.

“Good Lord! We were forced to pay into it, and we’ve been forced to receive it.”

No one can force you to receive it.

“Had I had a choice, I wouldn’t have had anything to do with it.”

Then help us get rid of it. Please. You are killing us right now. We are getting destroyed. We can’t do this by ourselves, but we can do this if Boomers step up and say, “no more”.

We need your help desperately. Please. Help us get rid of it.

Sorry, but your generation is too lefty to overcome, you reelected Obama, by the way, were you a racist during your military service?

I’m permanently disqualified. You could ask the vet who kindly invited me for Thanksgiving dinner if I harped on him. :)

The Fed keeping interest rates unrealistically low is hurting both retirees and those saving for retirement and is lowering the Social Security Fund income thereby accelerating its already rate of depletion.

Don’t you get it? Boomers can no more get rid of the entitlements than Republicans can.

Dems own it, and they won’t have anything to do with entitlement reform. Unless you’ve forgotten, they have the White House and the Senate.

I could scream about it until I cough up a lung and it won’t do any good.

I suggest you martial young people to the cause, but don’t expect anything good to come from it until you get young people to stop voting for dems.

You are blaming the wrong people, my FRiend.

Perhaps if you hadn’t aborted a third of my generation things would be different today.

Like I said, 35 and under white folks voted 60-40 against Obama. I wonder how long it will take for those numbers to sink in. :)

It would, however, destroy your paradigm that young people are evil.
