Lord Dunmore's appeal to the slaves in Virginia is the reason for one of the clauses in the Declaration of Independence:

"He has excited domestic Insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the Inhabitants of our Frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known Rule of Warfare, is an undistinguished Destruction, of all Ages, Sexes and Conditions."

That's the other reason everyone wanted to have arms--to defend their families against Indian attacks. Of course the liberal view is that the Indians were always peaceful unless attacked by the genocidal white Americans.

This is a textbook example of what I call “malicious ignorance”; i.e., turning your eyes away from anything that might disperse the unknowingness in your mind.

There is no historical doubt that the basis for the 2nd Amendment was the inclusion of the same right in Britain’s 1689 Bill of Right - to defend against potential tyranny.

Note to: Thom Hartmann’s “The Big Picture”. During the civil rights marches and struggles of the 1950s and 1960s, more than a few blacks exercised their 2nd Amendment rights to buy guns and ammo to protect their own lives and those of their families. The KKK and other racists weren't too keen about going up against someone who would shoot them dead.

Now, Mr. Hartmann and all your liberal Leftist trash: If you come to disarm Americans, we armed Americans will kill you. Do you get it or are you just too stupid to understand the implication?
