The purpose of war is to kill people and break things until the enemy ceases his aggression permanently. The delusion that war has some other purpose leads only to disasters such as Vietnam. New York's Governor, Andrew Cuomo, has just shown why supporters of the Bill of Rights must similarly use legal, nonviolent, and socially acceptable methods to destroy organizations (like the Million Mom March in 2000) and break political careers.
The ruin of the Million Mom March, along with Al Gore's self-destruction in three or so pro-Second Amendment states, bought gun owners only about 12 years of relative peace, just as Israel's so-called victories over Arab aggressors buy only interludes of peace. Mass fire-bombings of Axis cities followed by invasion (in Europe) and two nuclear bombs (in Japan), in contrast, ended Nazi and Imperial Japanese aggression for all time. New York has just shown why we must now apply the moral equivalent of this approach to the openly declared enemies of the Bill of Rights.
We Are At War
New York's recent legislation is a declaration of war on the entire Second Amendment, as shown explicitly by a provision that bans .22 caliber target pistols:
Restrict ammunition magazines to seven bullets, from the current national standard of 10. Current owners of higher-capacity magazines would have a year to sell them out of state.
The Ruger, Walther P22, and Smith & Wesson target pistols all use magazines with capacities of 10 or more, and their principal purpose is to make holes in pieces of paper at up to 50 yards. New York has therefore just made it eminently clear that the Constitution does not even protect sporting uses of firearms, let alone the Second Amendment's primary intention of individual, collective, and national self-defense.

Maybe I shouldn’t be so crude as to say that I’m happy that the (not nearly a) Million Mom March has disbanded.
On the other side, we at Second Amendment Sisters are booming! Some of you may recall that SAS was born right here on FR, when someone posted and article about their March in DC coming up.
We put together a rag tag stage with a microphone that kept falling down, and with no money to speak of except the few donations we got from Freepers.
Our surprise was that we got a few thousand people there for us!
We hadn’t even though about forming an organization. Indeed, none of the 5 founder of SAS had a clue how to do that!
The upshot is that SAS now has a few thousands members—and I just got word that 65 more joined today! (Thank you, Mr. Obama!)

Having done that, there's no doubt he'd have been equally overjoyed to have his Regime discover, develop, and unleash Adam Lanza, the Newtown mass murderer. Indeed, the Regime certainly had the resources to do it, given its massive, ongoing Internest surveilance program. It also had a powerful motive, Fast and Furious having exploded in its face and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals having just ordered the Illinois legislature and governor to come up with a way to comply with the Second Amendment.
Indeed, this was the perfect and necessary time for him to unleash a new Reichstag fire, which is probably exactly what he did at Newtown.

The nutbars who pushed this law through so fast forgot to exempt law enforcement officers. Any cop with a sidearm holding more than 7 rounds is in violation of the law. Standard sidearms issue in New York State has a 15 round magazine.

What brought American gun owners peace was when 19 Arabs armed with box cutters hijacked 4 airplanes and murdered 3000 Americans on 9-11-2001.
People who had no desire to have an assault rifle suddenly realized they just might need one after all.
This brings up a good point. Since practically all common 22s and target pistols, not to mention defensive pistols, come with a minimum 10-round magazine, does anybody think that manufacturers are going to tool up to make special NY magazines? Ruger might, and Glock might, but in general it looks like owners are supposed to sell all their magazines out of state and then they are SOL.
