Seven hostages were executed today as Algeria's four-day hostage stand-off came to a bloody end when the country's special forces stormed the remote desert gas plant.

The army killed 11 militants during the 'final assault' on Al Qaeda-linked gunmen, but not before they in turn executed seven hostages, the state news agency reported.

Defence Secretary Philip Hammond confirmed the government had received information that the hostage situation 'has now been brought to an end.'

He described the loss of life as 'appalling and unacceptable.'

The loss of hostage life is sad but I do like the swift no nonsense approach the algerians take towards terrorism.

Lets just hope than none of the mysterious missing 30 from Benghazi were among the hostages.

(just my brain wandering)

The most telling part of the AP story: -------------------------------------- The kidnappers focused on the foreign workers, largely leaving alone the hundreds of Algerian workers who were briefly held hostage before being released or escaping. Several of them arrived haggard-looking on a late-night flight into Algiers on Friday and described how the militants stormed the living quarters and immediately separated out the foreigners. Mohamed, a 37-year-old nurse who like the others wouldn't allow his last names to be used for fear of trouble for himself or his family, said at least five people were shot to death, their bodies still in front of the infirmary when he left Thursday night. Chabane, who worked in food services, said he bolted out the window and was hiding when he heard the militants speaking among themselves with Libyan, Egyptian and Tunisian accents. At one point, he said, they caught a Briton. "They threatened him until he called out in English to his friends, telling them, `Come out, come out. They're not going to kill you. They're looking for the Americans,'" Chabane said. "A few minutes later, they blew him away." --------------------------------------------

Well, of course.

Terrorism is by definition political theater.

Who is going to watch if you take Algerians hostage? That won’t get you on CCN.

They were not executed. Execution follows legal proceedings of some kind. These people were murdered in cold blood.

Words have meaning.

PING

And there is this:

http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/M/ML_ALGERIA_KIDNAPPING?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2013-01-19-09-51-18

“The al-Qaida-linked militants attacked the plant Wednesday morning. They crept across the border from Libya, 60 miles (100 kilometers) away, and fell on a pair of buses taking foreign workers to the airport. The buses’ military escort drove off the attackers in a blaze of gunfire that sent bullets zinging over the heads of crouching workers. A Briton and an Algerian - probably a security guard - were killed.”

“Frustrated, the militants turned to the vast gas complex, divided between the workers’ living quarters and the refinery itself, and seized hostages, the Algerian government said. The gas flowing to the site was cut off.”

Has obama even acknowledged this? ANY of it? I don’t hardly watch TV anymore, so if he did, I missed it.

The government shouldn’t send in it special force. It should find the militants’ families (kidnap them if they are in foreign countries) and start sending them body parts, a ear, a finger, then an eye, etc.

Bet that would put a quick end to it. Worked for the Russians.

If the Algerians had stood back and let barry and hillary handle it, none of the hostages would have survived. And the entire plant would have been blown up by now. And the terrorists would have faded back into the desert, to strike again another day.

Note also that an escaped Algerian said that they had “Libyan, Egyptian, and Tunisian accents.” These are Friends of Barry, armed and put into power by Barry, in Egypt and in Libya. North African Arabs doing the work of Mohammed, as they kill and enslave black Africans, which they have done for many centuries. Back to their old ways, with Barry’s eager assistance.

Execution implies that the hostages were fairly arraigned, tried and judged first. These people were murdered in cold blood. For the media to call this execution reveals support and agreement with these criminals.

This was just another act of WORK PLACE VIOLENCE, this wasn’t TERRORISM, there is no such thing as terrorists, besides, they were probably all white males.

it worked with the Russians when they were dealing with terrorists from the reasonably civilized levant. These guys are scum ~ probably mostly homosexuals trying to get entry into heaven ~ and they are likely not at all concerned for any family members.

AlQaida used homosexuals in the US for 911 as well.

I think the only way to deal with these guys is catch them and start cutting off parts and forcing them to eat them. REAL TORTURE 'open Mohawk style' ~ that's the ticket.

"Once in U.S. history an episode of Islamic terrorism was very quickly stopped. It happened in the Philippines about 1911, when Gen. John J. Pershing was in command of the garrison. There had been numerous Islamic terrorist attacks, so "Black Jack" told his boys to catch the perps and teach them a lesson. Forced to dig their own graves, the terrorists were all tied to posts, execution style. The U.S. soldiers then brought in pigs and slaughtered them, rubbing their bullets in the blood and fat. Thus, the terrorists were terrorized; they saw that they would be contaminated with hogs' blood. This would mean that they could not enter Heaven, even if they died as terrorist martyrs. All but one was shot, their bodies dumped into the grave, and the hog guts dumped atop the bodies. The lone survivor was allowed to escape back to the terrorist camp and tell his brethren what happened to the others. This brought a stop to terrorism in the Philippines for the next 50 years."

Reminds me of the British compound in saudi arabia where they went door to door asking their fellow koranimals who lived at the compound where Infidels lived. Their “neighbors” gave them up and they killed over 20 of them, IIRC. To top it off, as the filthy koranimals left the compound, they tied a Brit to the bumper of their cattle car & dragged him to his death over two miles.

Moral of the story:

Never trust koranimals.
