For over sixty years I thought it was 1950. Perhaps if you will check 1949,1951 or 1952 you will find in the box scores Musial hitting a home run in the bottom of the 2nd as the lead off hitter.

The ball landed on the roof of the right field stands after it cleared the screen at Sportsman's Park.

Roy Campenella (sp) catching, I don't recall the pitcher.

One thing I am very sure of is that my hero hit it out on his first at bat that I saw.

What will surprise you is where the stadium is located, Kutno, Poland. Dziekuje, to a great Polish-American.
