The Immigration Saga Continues
The New York Times ^ | January 19, 2013 | Editorial/New York Times

President Obama and lawmakers of both parties have begun laying the groundwork for something that is supposed to be unachievable in Washington today: a bipartisan deal to solve a bitterly contentious, complicated problem in a big way. The talk is of immigration reform, a once-in-a-generation overhaul of an outdated system that turns away too many skilled and eager workers, separates too many families and keeps too many millions of undocumented people at the edges of society, unable to get right with the law.

The outlines of reform have long been clear: more visas, a more secure border, better-regulated workplaces, more protections for workers’ rights and — the key to everything — legalization and eventual citizenship for 11 million unauthorized immigrants living in limbo. The only thing missing is a deal.

Expecting Congress to overcome its paralysis is never a good bet these days. But optimists will note that on immigration, at least, leaders in both parties are taking great pains to say that they want to get something done. Mr. Obama has recently been repeating his broken promise to win reform. Senators are huddling and floating proposals; some Republicans, like Marco Rubio of Florida, are positioning themselves as reformers with vague but positive-sounding statements.

I am not sure what they were smoking, here they indicated...Well, the border is secure. The nonpartisan Migration Policy Institute recently found that immigration enforcement, especially after 9/11, has had a significant effect in curbing the illegal border flow to essentially zero........However Border Patrol says the brutality of human smuggling is evident in the way they treat illegal immigrants.

This month, two undocumented women told Border Patrol agents that they were raped by human smugglers.

A woman from El Salvador said two smugglers separated her from a group of 20 other illegal immigrants and took her to a brushy area around the Falfurrias Checkpoint.

She said the men then raped her at gunpoint and left her behind. An illegal immigrant man from the group stayed behind to help take care of her.

Another woman, who was found near the Kingsville station, said she was at a stash house near Hidalgo when she was raped by three male smugglers on Jan. 6.

Border Patrol considers human smugglers “ruthless criminals”.

Agents say immigrants should not put their lives at risk by illegally entering the United States. http://www.valleycentral.com/news/story.aspx?list=195019&id=850050

Yep very secured.........

Non-partisan my ass. New Report Offers Deceptive Assessment of Immigration Enforcement

"Washington, D.C. (January 10, 2012) - A new report being promoted by the Migration Policy Institute (MPI), a research institute dedicated to promoting migration, paints a deliberately misleading picture of the state of immigration law enforcement. The report, titled Immigration Enforcement in the United States: The Rise of a Formidable Machinery, is presented as an objective assessment of immigration programs, and has been widely covered in the news media -- but is riddled with false statements, cherry-picked statistics, and inappropriate comparisons. This compilation of bogus findings aims to convince opinion leaders and the public that the government has succeeded in creating an effective "bulwark" of immigration enforcement that cannot be improved upon much, and suggests that spending cuts might be in order. MPI, which has close ties to the White House, has issued this report in a transparent attempt to help sell the President's immigration agenda, which includes amnesty for illegal immigrants, further restrictions on immigration enforcement, and expanded legal immigration."

There is no way I see Republicans gaining anything from the House GOP taking up this.

As George Will said this morning : “Obama will always outbid Republicans to Hispanics on this”

And so what will creating even MORE Dem voters accomplish?

Watta ya mean---Congress is paralyzed? Nonsense---the Democrats are doing everything in their power to facilitate illegal activities on Capitol Hill. Read on.

AP broke the story WRT an illegal immigrant------ and registered sex offender----- who was working as a volunteer intern for Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ). The Illegal was scheduled to be arrested but had not been due to "political concerns." The Homeland Security Department said the AP’s story about the delayed arrest of Luis Abrahan Sanchez Zavaleta was “categorically false.” Sen. Charles Grassley of Iowa and six other Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee asked the Obama administration for details about the incident. Guess what?

Obama’s Homeland Security Department lied to the AP. Documents show ICE officials in New Jersey advised that the arrest “had the possibility of garnering significant congressional and media interest” and were “advised to postpone the arrest” until officials in Washington gave approval.

The documents describe a conference call between Washington and New Jersey to “determine a way forward, given the potential sensitivities surrounding the case.”

The Repub senators said the documents show the delay was delayed six weeks just like the AP reported. They asked for details about the department’s review of potentially sensitive, high profile immigration cases when arrests are delayed. Menendez said that his staff was notified about the case immediately before AP’s story; he learned about the case from the AP and he knew nothing about whether or why DHS had delayed the arrest.

Mmmmmm.......it's downright amazing how Obama and the Democrats suck-up for latino votes at the same time they're "defending" the US Constitution (snix).

Law-abiding Americans Must demand answers to these penetrating questions.

(1) Why are illegal lawbreakers given the protection of: (a) the federal govt, (b) the Obama Admin, (c) the DOJ, (d) a US Senator, (e) other govt officials/workers/agencies and institutions?

(2) Are Democrats and Obama acting on orders from foreign governments?

(3) Why is an illegal lawbreaker (a registered sex offender) offered more protections and rights than law-abiding Americans?

(4) What's the number of state/officiels/agencies/institutions protecting interests, as well?

(5) What are the penalties imposed on US and state govt officials for using tax-paid govt offices, govt resources, and govt authority, to aid and abet wrongdoing---and why are they not being mobilized?

======================================================

The illegal predator was billed as a "volunteer." So how did he subsist in pricey Washington? who was paying his rent? Who was buying his meals? Who was paying his carfare back and forth to the Senate?

===============================================

L/E should examine Sen Menendez's timesheets, employment contracts, and other govt documents filed relating to actuating the position for an illegal. Its a felony to falsify govt documents---forgery could also be involved. How many other govt checks is he cashing: (1) state pension checks, (2) govt bonus checks, (3) govt annuities, (4) federal SS checks, (5) federal SSI checks, (6) state UI and Workmen's Comp checks. And govt credit cards, expense accounts, adminstrative budgets, travel reimbursements, use of govt cars.......and so on.

(Cackle) There seems to be a huge disconnect between ObamaBiden attributing their reelection to "The Hispanic Vote" and the rush to legalize Hspanics. O/B seem to be saying that illegal Hspanics fraudulently voted in US elections.

===================================================

BidenObama, and the vote-crazed Dems will do anything to get illegal votes.....even sacrifice the US Constitution. Florida officials discovered huge hordes of illegals on voters rolls when it called up names from the voter rolls for jury duty. Illegals said they could not serve on juries---b/c they were not citizens.

HYPHENATE SUCKUPS These "hispanic dreamers" are Third World voting blocs organized by salivating federales---conniving pressure groups---pulling a con to get billion dollar foreign aid allocations.

THE "DREAMERS" ARE USING MULTIPLE IDENTITIES----There's loads of parasitic ID brokers selling fake ID's to "impoverished" border violators for several thousand dollars each. Juan Madrigal--the Wash/state rapist--had some 30 identities. Another illegal used multiple identities to bilk UI of several million dollars. Two illegals---that equals some 40-50 votes (/snix) Hyphenates united to undermine US ntl secuity for their Third World taskmasters.....(/snix).

"DYING" to be legal?"

Father of young woman brutally killed by latino boyfriend will never forget her dead face
By LAURA ITALIANO, 9/28/12, NY POST

EXCERPT--The image of his murdered daughter's face -- frozen in terror -- will never leave him, a Connecticut father told a Manhattan judge. Dad Lynde Coit brought his raw grief to open court in hopes that the jealous, monstrous boyfriend who butchered his daughter will never see the light of day.

"When I identified Sarah's body in the basement of the morgue, the look on her face, the terror, will haunt me for the rest of my life and haunt the rest of her family," the father testified, his voice choking with emotion.

Sarah Coit was just 23 years old, and working her big-city dream job when her boyfriend and admitted murderer, Raul Barrera, 33, born in the Dominican Republic, brought months of abuse----broken bones, black eyes, and kicked-down doors------to a climax, stabbing her some 30 times.

.....the face her Dad saw at the city morgue, was criss-crossed by gashes. Her perfect teeth were bared in a grimace, according to autopsy photos. The tip of one of her kitchen knives had broken off into her skull.

Barrera, who pleaded guilty in hopes of a sentencing break, had acted with "breathtaking viciousness," prosecutor Matthew Bogdanos told Supreme Court Justice Richard Carruthers, who will decide the slaughterer's fate.

"There were so many soul-shattering screams that half-a-dozen New Yorkers got out of their beds at 2:30 in the morning." These neighbors roamed their hallways, calling, "Where are you? Where are you?" "Help! Help me!" Sarah kept screaming, according to witness testimony. Because of the way sound echoed in the walk-up, tenement apartments that line the block, neighbors thought her screams were coming from the building next door.

One of Barerra's stab wounds had partially eviscerated her. The floor was littered with spent knives -- bent and broken knives now on the prosecution table, in five cardboard evidence boxes, for the duration of the several-day-long hearing.

Barrera can be sentenced to anywhere from the mandatory minimum of 15 years to life in prison to the maximum allowed by law, 25 to life in prison. The judge will set his sentence based on testimony by prosecution witnesses and defense witnesses. Defense was expected to argue that Barerra deserves a cut in time because of mental health issues.
