Staying away from ALL news programs today (best comment on the inauguration)

Most Americans don’t know this – but then this is a country that did reelect Obama – that Dear Ruler was sworn in for his second term yesterday. The Constitution says he’s to be sworn in on the 20th, and that’s probably the only part of the Constitution that Obama wants to stringently adhere to. But there was a grand opportunity for Obama --- he could delay the inauguration until today, the day of the official holiday for Martin Luther King Jr. After all! How could he resist! I would love to see someone figure out how much it cost the taxpayers to have this ceremony today rather than putting on the big Charlie Foxtrot yesterday, but I can’t see anyone in the ObamaMedia corps doing that.

My first tweet this morning read thusly:

"No plans to watch any news channel or program today. All about Dear Ruler's inauguration. Like watching a loved one being raped."

Is it a coincidence that USA network is running an NCIS marathon today?
I think not.

I'm watching the movie, “The Alamo”. The Alamo took courage and grit, the same mind set we need today to rid ourselves of the tyranny we see from Hussein. Keeping my increasing gun/rifle/magazine/ammo inventory. Texas says I can keep them and Hussein can't have them. That's Alamo independence still in Texas.

“I’d rather rub salt and alcohol into bleeding hemorrhoids with an SOS pad than watch the coronation.”

Isn’t that the new prescribed treatment according to page 14,657 of the Affordable Health Care Act??? ;)

I hear you though!!! I have no TV on today; no radio. Took a peaceful albeit cold walk here in northeast Ohio. Trusting in God that this will somehow all make sense.

My husband and I were hanging wallpaper, but the movie “Quo Vadis” was on, so we were listening to it. A noteworthy quote:
[on being told the Christians are being blamed for the burning of Rome]
Vinicius: The people won’t believe such a lie!
Petronius: But they are believing it. People will believe any lie, if it is fantastic enough. (IMDB)

Some of those old movies really resonate today...at least to those who understand what a republic is and why the loss of one would be so tragic.

I refuse to watch the sick spectacle of a communist dick-tator being inaugurated (again) at the Whore House. FUBO is only the symptom of a terminally stupid people. I have no president and pretty soon will have no country.

Watching the Alamo? Switched to TCM but they are showing Raisin in the Sun. Hmmm... They belong in my cereal.

I watched it with my son many years ago. He cried when John Wayne was run through and through. I probably did to when I was his age. I’ve never seen him cry again.

That is so appropriate. I feel sad today that the country is no longer the country I lived in for all of my long years. Everything has changed, even clocks:

A few days ago I saw a picture of a wind up clock. Dawned on me if power was out for a while (which it always is after a hurricane through here), I don't have a single clock that doesn't need a battery or be plugged in the wall.

I started researching wind up clocks. When did wind up clocks become trash? When they all started being made in China. We have “progressed” to the point wind up clocks are trash. They cost between $7-mid 20s and are made of plastic in China. Customer comments are the clock stops after a short while, days if it works when they get it) and they throw it away and buy another and keep doing that.

If power is out I don't want to use a battery in a clock when more important items need batteries. I searched for two days and finally found a wind up clock that is dependable. One has to leave China to get a decent clock:

Sternreiter wind up alarm clock made in Europe. Available for $54.95 at Amazon with free shipping. It's made of all metal parts outside and inside. On their website it says you can pass this clock down to your grandchildren because it will still work.

America can't even make a wind up clock that is dependable. How can we exist here if we can't even do that? This clock thing was the last straw on top of trying to save our guns. I need an adult beverage right about now.

not watching either

0 represents the absolute antithesis of everything I believe in. The english language does not have a word to describe the depth of my loathing for him, his accomplices, and his supporters.

I'm pretty good now - limiting factor is my eyesight which has not improved with age.

No it doesn’t. I’ve found scopes and red dot sights work well but you can’t always use them. I also put flat white paint on my front sights if they are black.

I have bifocals and have to cant my head back just right for the sights to be in focus.
