President Obama on Monday became the first American president to refer to gay rights in an inaugural address, drawing effusive praise from gay rights advocates for his strong embrace of the cause and reflecting how much his views have changed.
“Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law,” the president said, “for if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well.”
He invoked the Stonewall riots of 1969, a landmark event in the history of the gay rights movement, tying them to seminal events in the battles for women’s suffrage and civil rights.
“We, the people,” Obama said, “declare today that the most evident of truths — that all of us are created equal — is the star that guides us still; just as it guided our forebears through Seneca Falls, and Selma, and Stonewall.”
CNN’s Anderson Cooper immediately recognized the significance of the moment.
“For a president who only recently, to use his word, evolved on the issue of same-sex marriage, he made very forceful statements in this inaugural address, actually, historic statements on equal rights for gay and lesbian Americans,” said Cooper, who is openly gay.

Ask the black church going voters what they thought of President Obama’s comparison of Selma to Stonewall.
We also know he lied to voters in 2008 when he claimed he opposed same sex marriage and later came “evolve” on this issue.
The “black church goers” are just that...church goers. When 96% of blacks vote for abortion and homosexual marriage their designation as “Christian” bears scrutiny.
But...but...what about the transgendered?
They were assured in 2008 by their pastors and community leaders that he was not pro-abort/pro-homo. “Fight the smears.”

But ask them how they like their historical touchstone repeatedly whored out by Baraq Hussein Ubama. A man who told a crowd gathered in Selma that HE EXITS because somebody marched in Selma. Not exists in the White House, but that HIS PARENTS came together after that march. That march that happened YEARS after his birth and while his parents were already splitting apart.
How do they like the Civil Rights march against segregation being compared to a riot against cops shutting down a mob run speakeasy gay bar?
The Gay Vote alone was enough to deliver the Obama win in 2012 and now he will repay the gays and other non white, non Evangelical Christian, non male, non Conservative groups.
