NRA president in Dover: 'We have a special interest'
(This Gannett site does not permit excerpts, so here is the link)
The headline is anything but “balanced”.
Then this wasn't the same son, Hunter, who was indicted for hedge fund fraud along with Joe's brother.........
However, if they enacted new penalities for breaking existing gun laws, such as drawing and quartering using a very slow method of increasing the draw, might be a deterrent to a crimnal and make them think twice about breaking a gun law.
Then they could reduce the number of existing gun laws down to the bare minimum, like 1, that it is a crime to kill someone with a gun unless you do so in self defense or defense of another under attack.
Yeah, I think that site only gives you 3 hits, then kicks you back to page 1 without being a subscriber. Page 1 today has 1 mil turnout for Obama, but only 1 thou turnout for Keene on the NRA story. Sorry.
Well, the problem is that the prosecutors seem to use a concurrent gun charge as a bargaining chip to avoid the expense of trial, by knocking off the gun charge if they get a guilty plea.
What needs to be done is to forbid the dismissing of the gun charge, but rather a stiffer penalty for a gun in the commission, no guilty plea accepted!
This free speech advocate doesn’t allow anyone to comment unless you are a paid subscriber. Any Conservative letters to the editor are “lost”.
That's good to know, and publish. Since the internet, I haven't read the paper much. But in the printed version, I've seen some back-and-forth on the reader's comment section of the editorials. Everything is pretty much left-leaning and pretty much under political machine control. Those in higher state and federal office are not easily going to be upset. The offices just pass back and forth between a few hands, GOPe or Democrat. They are very difficult to dislodge.
I've often thought of writing something aimed at the editorial page, but thought it might be just a waste of time. I dunno.
