Obama seeks to split Republican Party into warring factions before 2014 midterm election

Barack Obama’s top political aide used an Inauguration Day interview to sketch out a provocative political strategy intended to split the Republican Party in time to impact the 2014 midterm elections.

“The barrier to progress here in many respects, whether it is deficits, measures to help economy, immigration, gun safety legislation … is [that] there are factions here in Congress, Republicans in Congress, who are out of the mainstream,” White House advisor David Plouffe said on CNN’s “State of the Union with Candy Crowley.”

“We need more Republicans in Congress to think like Republicans in the country who are seeking compromise, seeking balance,” he claimed.

This is news?

You can see this every time a Dem like Schumer gets on TV and brags that ‘Obama won a big victory’ by getting a 3/4 month extension of the Debt limit.

Dems plan is to keep the House GOP in a corner where they cant get support of many of their members to propose things that Obama and Dems cant accept, so they can convince most voters that the Republicans are trying to blow up the Obama economy out of spite, and that you cant deal with them,, because they know that is the way to get the most concessions while making Republicans as liked as foreclosing banks.

Example :
We got Obama demanding Amnesty with full citizenship and many weak kneed Rs ready to sign on. Dems are saying FULL citizenship must be party of it.

So the GOP should offer as a ‘concession’ to make Os temporary EO on Dreamers into law. Illegals(Dreamers) must re-register every few years.

He is doing a damn good job, seeing all the division among even conservatives here on FR.

Wrong. The GOP-E has done an excellent job of splitting itself off from its Conservative base. The Republican wounds are wholly self-inflicted, and Obama and Plouffe don't have to do anything.

I hope that R conference got the ball(s) rolling. We’ll know in a a week or two if they’ve got anything going.

They don't. They just returned from a "retreat" in Williamsburg and promptly unfurled the white flag.

A minority posture for House GOP

A sizable portion of the GOP (Tea Partiers and Ron Paul Supporters) were alienated by the establishment GOP at and after the convention. Their issues and concerns were ridiculed and ignored. They were essentially told to “piss off”. And guess what? They did.

That is exactly what happened. Just go back and read the live GOP Convention threads and you'll want to puke at the sheer arrogance of the GOP-E and Team Romney.

There are so many DU and Ron Paul libertarian plants here it makes me puke.

There are also a large number of GOP-E apologists and operatives around here begging Conservatives to go back for more abuse by the party masters.

Some Republican contributions to the leviathan state:

Nixon - OSHA, EPA, Plus took the nation off the gold standard.

Gerald Ford - Education for Handicapped Children Act

George H.W. Bush - S&L bailout

G.W. Bush - Medicare prescription drugs, no child left behind, TARP. Plus appointed Bernanke to head the Federal Reserve.

“There will be noting that will stop this madness. Including a move to allow for a third term.”

Yep, I’ve been saying it too.

Don’t take this CRAP just like you wouldn’t let someone CRAP on your face!

This article is a damn joke. The GOP needs no help. As long as the GOP supports ‘a pathway to citizenship’, supports ‘reasonable’ gun control laws, supports affirmative action, supports an out of control DC spending or otherwise, supports all kind of liberal BS they need no help in destroying itself.

“Of course spending is important but economic growth is equally important to get people back to work.”

People are not going to be going back to work when we tax the hell out of the job producers! You are all happy about supposedly making the Bush tax cuts permanent. I have news for you, the job producers took it in the shorts. But you got yours, right?

Oh. Nevermind. It is now confirmed. You haven’t a clue!

As painful as it is to admit, but in the interest of honesty, Reagan also elevated the Veterans Administration to the Department of Veterans Affairs and started the Constitutionally corrosive “War on Drugs.”

Bullcrap.

First off, don’t lump Tea Partiers in with the Paulshivek crowd. Paulshiveks are libertarians, a conservative/liberal hybrid. They are NOT conservatives and they by their own choosing have no desire to be so. They are liberals wrapped in flag and freedom.

The Paulshiveks have taken over the Iowa GOP and immediately set to exclude everyone that didn’t pay homage to their false messiah, including social conservatives and tea partiers. The corruption and insider dealing they have engaged in since taking over rivals that of the GOP-E country club insiders.

Fake conservative libertarians can take the liberal social issue stances and go piss up a rope. They are frauds and shysters of the first degree.

And there are just as many libertarian nut jobs wanting a GOP breakup into a third party thinking that will be the magic unicorn that will save them, despite the fact we have dozens of third parties already that regularly fail to get even 1% of the vote. This is because they want to be on the ground floor and have their little fiefdom of power.

And of course, the DU drones lurk here in numbers too, sowing chaos and dissension.

If he uses the same strategy to split the Republican Party as he had to bail out the solar companies they have nothing to worry about.

“If you think Bush raised spending AND cut taxes you are just stupid. I can’t help you.”

I don’t want your help I want you to go away and leave FR.

You rhetoric is damaging and useless... and you offer nothing of value. Go back to DU.

“Some Republican contributions to the leviathan state:’

Not saying the Repubs haven’t been playing politics as well.

But where to you want to hitch your cart? On a team that says we want big government and they are Nationalizing parts of economy or a team that says they want a smaller government?

you got two choices... which one do you want to work for?
