Personally, I concur with the idea mentioned in the article....that it was a form of protest regarding the evil tearing down of our Constitution by this administration.

I pray for Scalia often. He’s the only common-sense Conservative on the bench anymore.

Gotta love Scalia.

Sure looks like a message, to all those who have eyes to see.

Scalia quite frankly ,frightens me as often as he delights me with his constitutional positions. I don’t trust anyone whose avowed mistress is his ego. It is not just liberals that have their elitists.

We’ll never have another truly conservative court. The Warren court pretty much solidified SCOTUS as a political arm. Jurists are no longer impartial.

There are three branches of government: Executive, Judicial and Legislative.

If the Executive is tearing down our Constitution, why are the two other branches quiet and not doing something about it?

There seems to be a dictatorship by consent.

renaissance era painter’s hat

?? Renaissance era HUMANIST, not painter. "Sir Thomas More (/ˈmɔr/; 7 February 1478 – 6 July 1535), known to Catholics as Saint Thomas More since 1935,[1][2] was an English lawyer, social philosopher, author, statesman, and noted Renaissance humanist. He was an important councillor to Henry VIII of England and was Lord Chancellor from October 1529 to 16 May 1532.[3] He was canonized by Pope Pius XI in 1935 as one of the early martyrs of the schism that separated the English Church from Catholicism in the 16th century. In 2000, Pope John Paul II declared him Patron of Catholic Statesmen and Politicians."

More was charged with Misprision of Treason after refusing to state an oath after the Act of Succession proclaiming King Henry VII and Anne Boelyn as legitimate heirs to the throne. It contained a clause repudiating any foreign authority, prince or potentate.

Scalia: "Hmmph. I'll bet the dumba** doesn't even know who Sir Thomas More is."

He was lucky to get the sentenced commuted to beheading. Originally he was to be drawn and quartered.

Video of More's death from The Tutors.

If accurate he met his end bravely.

That would make Obama Henry VIII.

Only instead of seven wives, he probably has seven boyfriends behind the scenes in the White House.

And instead of standing for divorce, he stands for gay marriage, as he explained in his inaugural address.

In Henry’s case....that must have included the Prince of Peace... God Himself and HIS authority.

Yep....St. Thomas Moore paid the ultimate price in giving his life for FREEDOM of CONSCIENCE. He is certainly a model for today!

Only God could judge King Henry VIII on his Judgement Day and no other. The Act of Succession was a declaration by the Monarchy of independence from the Pope and the Catholic Church because the Catholic Church refuse to recognize Anne Boelyn as the legimate wife of Henry.
