Former Special Forces Commander: Was U.S. Running Guns to Syrian Rebels Via Benghazi? CIA: No
CNS News ^ | 1/22/13 | Terence P. Jeffrey

(CNSNews.com) - Retired Army Lt. Gen. William G. Boykin—who is the former commander of the U.S. Special Forces Command, the former deputy undersecretary of defense for intelligence and who worked with the CIA—told CNSNews.com in a video interview last week that he believes it is a reasonable supposition that the U.S. was supporting or planning to support the Syrian rebels via Benghazi, Libya.

The CIA, however, says Boykin’s supposition is erroneous and that the U.S. was not conducting or planning covert action to support Syrian rebels through Benghazi.

“These assertions are both baseless and flat wrong,” a CIA spokesperson told CNSNews.com on Tuesday.

Boykin believes that such an action, or planned action, would help explain why Amb. Chris Stevens was in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012, visiting that city for the first time since he had departed from it in November 2011 after having served there as a special envoy to the Libyan rebels who overthrew the Qaddafi regime.

I do not for a minute or even a second that the contractors who died in Benghazi would participate in running guns to al Qaeda affiliated anything. As for the deliberate taking away of security for the Benghazi mission and the ambassador, I believe the answer to that question lies with Hillary and the White House.

Was Benghazi a PRISON RUN BY THE CIA, ILLEGAL UNDER 0BAMA’S OWN POLICIES? Most likely.. Anyone interview any of those 37 SURVIVORS THAT WERE ‘EVACUATED’ YET????? Was 0bama actively engaged in an administration-wide coverup to save his re-election?? YES.

LOL,, ‘cause the CIA is always TOTALLY honest with us, right? Can anyone, point to a time in the last 50 years where the American people ever had the slightest idea as to what they were doing?
They have basically lied non-stop to us since their creation.

I trust Boykin.

Why?

The statement by the CIA should end the speculation.

After all, we know that the CIA never ever makes any misleading statements of any kind.

How can you possibly run a spy agency, participate in or conduct secret operations unless you tell all?

As obumbler said once; “They must think you are stupid!”

Of course they would! The US Military just finished a massive bombing campaign on their behalf. May of the leaders of the Libyan insurgency were very people we had captured and released in Iraq.
We are giving All kinds of weapons to the Palestinians.
We are giving Tanks, subs, and F-16s to the same Al Qeida loyal moslem brotherhood movement in Egypt.

Oh,, and dont look now, but every single leader of Al Qeida has been a full member of the moslem brotherhodd that now runs Egypt.
Spooks are spooks,, and they just execute missions. They have very little influence over what the missions are.

Of course they were there to send weapons to Syria. The Syrian insurgents are the same EXACT bunch as the ones we supported in Egypt, and Libya.

Running a spy agency does involve some secrecy. But that secrecy has been used to cover up wrongdoing too. One example is the Soldiers and other people unwittingly given LSD to study it’s effects.

Hiding the U2 but letting people believe in UFOs, fine, funny.
Smuggling dope into Mena airport with the help of Governor Bill Clinton, evil.
Spying on foreigners, good.
Intercepting all domestic electronic texts, emails and phone calls, evil.
In Desert Storm planting false news stories on invasion day that US Paratroops were landing near Kuwait City, helpful.
Leaking fake Syrian gas attack preparation stories to get us into the war there,,evil.
CIA standing by Wilsons fake report BAD.
CIA leaking designed to embarrass Bush,,bad.

Some secrecy is needed. But such secrecy demands -extremely- high ethics that are not demonstrated by our government or intelligence community.

Democrats think it's OK to lie for 'the cause' - dems are above the law, right? The cause is larger than mere mortals - ask Al Gore.

Sadly it turns out 'the cause' is only their big fat ego gasping and grasping to hold on to power...

Benghazi Attack disrupted Major CIA Operation: Attack allegedly directed against “CIA Operatives and Contractors” September 25, 2012

What the Times omits from its account of CIA activities in Benghazi, however, is that the agency was not merely conducting covert surveillance on the Islamists based in eastern Libya, but providing them with direct aid and coordinating their operations with those of the NATO air war launched to bring down the Gaddafi regime. In this sense, the September 11 attack that killed Stevens and the three other Americans was very much a case of the chickens coming home to roost.

There is only one thing I do not understand about Bengazi.

I understand the NYT.

I understand the CIA methods.

I understand the Chris Matthews and the obumbler inner circle.

What I do not understand is that there are very powerful repubs and very powerful conservatives (note that they are not always the one and the same) who are Washington insiders.

They know all of this and a hell of a lot more, but yet they say nothing and do nothing.

If this is not impeachable, it certainly is destructive to make it known that obumbler and his inner circle are at the very least Muslim sympathizers and at worst jihadists.

Their Mideast policies will ensure the Caliphate.

If the repub party had any fight in them at all, they would be talking about this on every possible occasion rather than hiding under the bed.

Look at the coverage of this event compared to the coverage given Iran Contra.

That almost cost Caspar Weinberger his head. Here everyone will walk...on a red carpet with a brass band.
