Senators, for once, control your urge to blow an opportunity in exchange for a kind word from the WaPo.

This is good advice for everybody on the hill, and not just on this issue. The WaPo is never going to cut the Republicans a break as they do the Dems every day, so stop trying! You're ruining the party!

Your analogy is a bit misguided.
To compare this with the tax standoff nearly all privately owned guns would have to become illegal automatically on a certain date if nothing was passed , because all of our taxes were going up if Bohner didnt do anything.

So the 'do nuthin-ers' were holding out for higher taxes on us all in that case so no R Speaker would have done what was demanded of Bohner.

In this case all guns will not =become illegal if the House does nothing.
