The advocacy group backed a Change.org petition started by Will Oliver, a 20-year-old gay Eagle Scout, that calls on Nat Geo to air a disclaimer clarifying the network's views before each episode of its new series, "Are You Tougher than a Boy Scout." It debuts this spring.
"That National Geographic would brush aside countless gay teens suffering at the hands of the BSA, shrugging off injustice as just another ‘point of view,' is irresponsible," GLAAD president Herndon Graddick said in a statement. "By airing this program, National Geographic is providing support and publicity to an organization that harms young people simply because of who they are. If the network is truly committed to standing by its non-discrimination practices, it should have no problem airing a disclaimer to that effect."

You know, back in the good old days we would take along a gay teen on our scout campouts and tie him to a tree. Then we would flog him with a cat'o nine tails and salt the wounds with a bit of quicklime. We would untie him the next morning.

countless? Since homosexuals are a little over 1% of the pop they can easily be counted.
And homosexual teens are not suffering at the hands of the BSA but at their own hands.
Lots of flags in the article at the petition site that suggests that the author of the petition is not now and probably never was an Eagle Scout. For one thing he refers to the other members of his ‘pack’. Well Cub Scouts have packs, Boy Scouts have Troops.
This guy is a fraud.
Boys are not asked about their sexual preference, nor are they back ground checked.
It is the men and women that volunteer and are employed by the BSA that are checked and questioned. They are the potential problems. Why would a grown homosexual man have any desire to spend a great deal of time with pubescent and prepubescent boys for any reason OTHER than to exploit his potential influence over them? There isn't any! Most men get involved in scouting because they have male children that are in scouting.
Any gay boys in the scouts are generally just sexually confused children, there exposure to other boys in a nonsexual group environment is probably healthy and helpful to their psyche and may lead to correction of their sexual degeneracy. Besides any unwanted sexual advances by these boys will be handled as they are in any other situation.
This entire War on Boy Scouting is a gay mafia creation to further tear down a morally straight institution that is only interested in the building of a better America through the building of Better Men.

I have not read of any youth Boy Scout (12-17 years of age) who has been kicked out of a troop because of homosexuality. That doesn't mean that it won't happen. It's probably going to happen soon. There are plenty of accounts out there where troops are making their own rules about inclusivity, i.e., bucking BSA national's membership policy regarding open homosexuals/atheists. The councils that have tried to do this have been hammered by BSA national.
The latest case that brushes up against this issue was that of 17 year old Ryan Andresen in 2011. His troop is in a council east of San Franciso. He came out to his SM. Speculation is that someone within the troop committee heard about it and informed the council when the SM approved Ryan's Eagle application and forwarded it to the council for processing. National BSA denied him the Eagle rank because he violated BSA's religious policy, i.e., Ryan supposedly confessed to his SM that he did not believe in a supreme being. His parents have been raising cain.
It will happen again, except even in a more clear cut case. No predicition how this will eventually play out.
