Looks like a good time to pick up a few Ruger Mini 14s.
The idea is to propose banning 157, and then “compromise” on only banning some lesser number.
My Saiga is on there. Too bad I lost it in an unfortunate boating accident!

The Franchi shotguns are already illegal to import. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franchi_SPAS-12) So I guess this law would bizarrely bless their retention by someone who “just happened to end up with one” in the USA, despite the import ban? Confusing.
Am I missing something? AK-47 and the like variants are banned, but not SKS variants?

So I can order a Mini-14/20GBCP Tactical ... or a Mini-14/20P Ranch Rifle ... which are the exact same rifles except they don't look scary.

interstingly the mini14 appears only to be banned if it is the Ruger Mini-14 Tactical Rife M–14/20CF model.
i assume this is because it is black plastic and has a flash hider. functionally though it doesnt seem any different from any other mini14 variant.
And both the AK and AR, but not the HK 416, for example?
Feistein’s ban is for future purchase or for currently owned?
And how are THEY going to do about the currently owned?
