“If they are banning these by name, couldn’t the manufactures just change the name...”

thought the same thing - political posturing

If memory serves me correctly, the G41 is the semi only version although they did have a semi G3 I’m not sure it was imported. They had to change the designation to import (I’m sure I’ll be corrected on every detail on that).

Sounds like Sen. Dianne Feinstein has declared a war of attrition where she wins by taking these off of the market.

Once a gun is banned by name it is eternally banned, even if the offensive cosmetics that make it an “assault weapon” are removed.

When everything is illegal it won’t matter what you own. They are all illegal. Why not go all the way with a sound suppressed short barreled selective fire rifle? To the gun grabbers its the same as a Saiga or a Bushmaster may be even a Ruger 10/22.

A Stiletto titanium. Hammers killed more people than assault weapons. They ain’t getting my Stiletto unless they pry it from my cold dead hands.

The import version of the G3 was the HK-91.

I just double checked and I am completely wrong. The G41 was a later version that was select fire. G3 was available in semi only.

As usual the Dems push too far, so that when the Reps push back, the Dems can still get what they want after renegotiating.

They always ask for to much as a distraction.

The devil is in the details. The 1911 could be banned.

E-vil guns here. Your eyes may bleed!

At any rate, the far more troubling bits of this bill are,
National gun registry and no sunset clause.

The Bolt action Thomson Icon would also be banned.

While the language states all Thompson rifles would be banned, it also provides a specific exclusion for "Any firearm manually operated by a bolt, pump, lever or slide action." Trial courts would probably err on the side of confiscation and the citizen being a criminal.
