I was shocked to see the M1 Carbine missing while a HI Point carbine is specifically singled out.

Funny thing.
School kids used to be able to order MI Garands and M1 Carbines in the back of Popular Mechanics, and for a nominal fee The US Postman would hand deliver the goods to little Jimmy with a smile.

Notice this list is `By Name’. I’ll bet they have another section that’s `By functionality’

As to the pistols, they are all ridiculously inaccurate. To heavy to aim and to much recoil to be of any real use.

Yeah, I noticed they're going after the 5.56mm and .223 family. Looks like they also listed the FN Herstal 5.7x28mm line, but neglected (unless I completely missed it) the Five-Seven pistol.

The FN Herstal 5.7x28mm is the FN Five Seven.
Now that one is accurate.

The rifle based pistols are not.
If they had an attachable stock or underfolding stock they would be of some limited use.

They peppered functionality and style though out the bill.

That’s why the used the phrase AK-47 TYPE including. They are trying to use the word type to prevent that. What the heck is the legal meaning of type? Is it defined by specific patent or copyright or is it what ever they want it to mean later on?

Also of note is that during Sandy Hook, I saw police snipers carrying Bolt actions (Remington 700?)
These people (DiFi) have no idea what is deadly and what is not.

Car crashes kill far more childrens than guns and these folks never think twice about strapping the baby into a car seat over a 25 ga tank of gas then hurtling 70 MPH down the road just feet away from another car hurtling in the opposite direction.

They make fruit smoothies in High power blenders for their kids that could maul a child for life.

I hate this hand wringing Assault Legislation!

Word games. They change the meaning of definitions with airy language like that.

That is how we got here to begin with. My accepting airy definitions in law, such as Assault weapon and High Cap magazine.

True enough.
You can barely find ammo now.

Yeah it’s a hodgepodge list that seems to be made up by an idiot. That means anyone from BATFE. It’s about the logic level they use. Probably had some people from there coach difi on her list.

When we fought the Dems over ILLEGAL immigration, they used the argument, that it was fiscally and physically impossible to round up and deport 12 million ILLEGALS.

Now the same people are arguing that we must round up and register 340 million LEGALLY owned fire arms.

BAHH!!

Notice that they aren’t calling them “assault weapons.” This is surprising to me because California invented the term, at least as it is applied to any firearm the gun-grabbers find to be odious, and that would be any rifle or handgun.
But they can’t start with grabbing Daddy’s shotgun or little brother’s Ruger 10-22.
`Sturmgewehr’: Storm or assault rifle. The Californos probably figured it was a good way to suggest that gun-owners are like SS troopers ...

Anyway, they call their Lutheresque 99 Feces: “List of Firearms Prohibited by Name,” and they allow us to infer that they mean “assault weapons.”
Anyone who isn’t a gun naif, an idiot or a Democrat understands that an “assault weapon” is a firearm capable of fully automatic fire and these weapons are already (over) regulated ... I want to be able to buy one at Walmart.
OK, no more scare quotes around the evil things that must not be mentioned in the list heading.

Arguing that any firearm subjectively found to be scary-looking is an assault weapon is only slightly less fatuous than arguing that Home Depot is loaded with dangerous assault weapons: Fully automatic weapons are subsumed within the category “firearms”, not vice versa.
They are arguing backwards—I believe it may be called a `composition’ logical error—and should be called on it.

And while the black-letter, supreme law of this land is that `The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed,’ the gun-grabbers say—and presumably with a straight face—that they want to “prohibit” (an arbitrary laundry list of scary-looking, semi-automatic) firearms that may cause gun naifs, et al., to quail, but in fact, in 2011 assault weapons, that cause them so much loss of sleep, actually caused less than one percent of all firearm-related deaths in this country. I believe the Breitbart figure was 0.12.
QED. No one takes Fineswine or Biteme series; everyone knows this—except Di and Slow Joe. They are like children. Malicious, stupid children. And that raises another point, why do we have armed guards in Congress?
Well ....

Correction: “category error,” not composition—A category mistake, or category error, is a semantic or ontological error in which “things of one kind are presented as if they belonged to another”
