Dear XXXXXXXXXX,
The Founding Fathers made it very clear: the ability to bear arms is a fundamental right of citizenship in these United States. The America they created is a place where “We the People” are guaranteed the right to defend ourselves, our families and our property. We must not allow emotions to alter or abridge our fundamental constitutional rights.
As your Attorney General, I have a sworn duty to uphold the Constitutions of South Carolina and the United States – including the Second Amendment. I am fully committed to doing just that.
Like many South Carolinians, I am a gun owner. I am also the proud father of two toddlers. Many of us learned how to shoot and handle guns responsibly from our fathers. It is a tradition passed from one generation to another, and it’s something I plan to pass along to my children. Taking away our constitutional rights will not make our children safer. It will make them less safe.
Like every parent, I want my children to be protected when they are in the classroom. We have a sacred obligation to look after children. That’s why I strongly support training and arming resource officers in schools. It is also why I am opposed to a one-size-fits-all approach to gun control measures.
Some in Washington, DC are solely directing their focus on restricting the Second Amendment, without addressing factors which impact violence in America. For instance, pop culture continually promotes violence through bloody movies, graphic video games and song lyrics which encourage violence. Another key component of this problem is the ability of mentally ill people to gain access to firearms. We need to better identify these individuals and treat them, instead of chipping away at the Second Amendment. Limiting a constitutional right is not a form of mental health treatment.
This issue is best addressed by the states, not by an over-reaching federal government in Washington. Like most every other public policy issue, it is best to keep as much power as we can at the state and local level. I am a firm believer in both the Second and Tenth Amendments and I remain opposed to constant attempts by the federal government to erode them.

Based on your address it will email every State and Federal representative who applies to you! For me that's 11 people with one or two clicks: Prez, Veep, all four Senators, two Reps, Governor, Lt. Gov, and Atty Gen.
I really do use it 5-6 times a day - usually whenever I read some worrying news about gun control. I always check the 'Remember Me' box and I don't have to type anything.

I would suggest that blanketing your legislators with stock emails from Ruger is only one part of a much bigger picture. What talks in gun control efforts is money, lots of money to do things to those who are attempting to destroy the God given right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
Supporting as many gun rights organizations as you can reasonably afford is also a good thing because those organizations, are able to go after the irresponsible parties with a vengeance, and your direct support enables them to do it.
Some of these are NRA, NAGR, SAF, GOA, JPFO, and everyone should be supporting their local gun rights organization such as WYGO, RMGO, etc. I cannot stress enough how important it is to belong and support the organizations that have been at the forefront of efforts to preserve and defend our God given rights.
Join as many as you can, and stay vigilant, aware, and awake as to what is taking place in government from city to county, to State, and to the Nation. At every level in EVERY state in the United States efforts are ongoing to strip the people of the right to bear arms.
I can promise, No one has any idea just how pervasive the idea is that the Constitution is the problem not the solution.
There is no way I am identifying myself to government officials as either a gun owner or one of many other gun owners, complete with mobile tracking ID, e.g., my phone number, email, etc. It would have been far better of this gun manufacturer to have posted a letter that said as one who supports the rights of gun owners....

Nice to see a fellow Carolinian, albeit the South Carolina AG, understands the Constitution as written and not interpreted by some college commie professor. I can only assume by his continuous ankle grabbing the NC AG, Roy Cooper, will quickly sell out the gun owners in this state. You’d think with a newly elected Republican governor, he’d think twice, but never underestimate the ability of a Progressive to ignore the majority.

If this was about “saving lives,” the government would ban cigarettes, which have a far, far greater effect on citizen health and mortality than guns do. But the government needs the tax money from selling cigarettes.
This is about rendering the citizens of the U.S. defenseless as the government attacks the Bill of Rights and the concept of limited government as mandated in the Constitution. This is a battle for the survival of our nation.
I am more & more glad with each passing day that I am blessed to be a South Carolinian. It’s good to know our AG thinks this way. He is a worthy successor to Henry McMaster who IIRC needs to be in the U.S. Senate.
We have a local throwaway rag called Free Times, their motto should be “You get what you pay for”. FT laments that there is no homegrown gun control movement in SC, that a local gun store is producing its own line of AR-15s (Palmetto State Armory), that the “gun culture” in SC is teaching nine year olds how to shoot their first deer, that our local gun shows were always mobbed even before the current panic, and that it’s so tough being a decent caring compassionate multicultural progressive when you’re surrounded by all this disgusting bigotry & backwardness /s.
Oh, did I mention we have an annual tax free day for purchasing firearms? New York this isn’t.

You can't trust the SCGOP if I've not been mislead, an SC Freeper told me there was collusion between them and the SC Dems if Ms. Lindsey was to be the GOP primary winner.
