Googles infrastructure spending continued its upward trend during the fourth quarter, hitting a two-year high of $1.02 billion. Excluding the fourth quarter of 2010, though in which Google plunked down $2 billion for a massive data center/office location at 111 8th Avenue in New York the companys last quarter represents the biggest infrastructure investment in its history.

Only a moron or leftist would choose NYC as a place to do serious technical business. It also tells me google is in cahoots with scumbags.
NYC is one of the most expensive places to put a data center.
Well no doubt Goog is tight with the Baraqqi Regime.
This is probably a combination of payback for favors and proximity to liberal centers of power.
