Appearing on NBCs Meet the Press this afternoon, former GOP vice presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) praised Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and lamented that she did not win the presidency in 2008, as he believes that would lead to a better chance for deficit reduction today than under President Obama.
Host David Gregory showed Rep. Ryan video of Sec. Clinton speaking with him at the inaugural luncheon, which Ryan characterized as chumming it up over a variety of personal topics.
The congressman then praised Clinton: Look, if we had a [Hillary] Clinton presidency, if we had Erskine Bowles as Chief of Staff of the White House or President of the United States, I think we would have fixed this fiscal mess by now. Thats not the kind of presidency were dealing with right now.

Once again Ryan is being put out there as the smiley face conservative boy wonder who is going to mass convert by going on TV and talking and smiling.
“We failed to get our message out”
Once again warned of the high deficits.
Problem is that Ryan was VP candidate and lost, and he was put out front and center long before that.
So what message didn’t he ‘get out’ ???
Oh good grief, already the 'eating our own' starts.
Ryan, as far as I know, has offered the only viable plan for reducing spending. And even if it's not as much as many might like, it IS a start.
Watch the witch play this comment if she runs in 2016. Idiotic.
Never say nice things about the enemy.
I think he knows Hillary won’t run in 2016, so he’s ripping obama by praising her.
Agreed about the false praise, rhinohunter (though I tend to think that HC would be anti-Israel, as well). What on EARTH are these Conservatives THINKING when they do this? And it isn't only Sarah or Paul Ryan; Conservatives seem to do this FREQUENTLY. In fact, during Rush's Operation Chaos campaign, while so many other Conservatives were running out and lending HC legitimacy by voting for her in the primary (even if it was an attempt to expose more about O), I could not even listen to his program while he was on that subject.
Surely these Conservatives know that HC and BO have the same Authoritarian goals, yet they continue to heap praise on this anti-American incompetent. The only thing I can think of is that, presumably, they want to show the media that they don't criticize all Leftists, so they will not be tagged as "extremist."
Talk about irony.
Well, okay, it would be a start. But that start is not likely to occur before bond collapse, repudiation and currency adjustment time, because the most influential constituents in both political parties are against spending cuts.
