The Miami Heat's upcoming four-game trip will feature a welcomed detour.

The White House announced Wednesday the team will meet Monday with President Obama at the White House to commemorate the franchise's 2012 NBA championship.

According to a memo from the White House press office, "President Obama will welcome the NBA Champion Miami Heat to the White House to honor the team and their 2012 NBA Championship victory. The President will also recognize the Heat’s ongoing support to the men and women who serve in our military and their families, continuing the tradition begun by President Obama of honoring sports teams for their efforts on and off the court. While in Washington, the Heat will also meet with wounded warriors."

The Heat made a similar White House visit with President Bush following their 2006 NBA championship.

The voters may approve the offers. That is not always the same as the taxpayers.

I absolutely agree the taking the POLITICIANS is wrong, that’s what I’ve been saying to you. What I’m pointing out is that as long as the politicians keep doing that, blaming businesses for taking what’s offered is silly. They’re just making sound business decisions, it’s the politicians that are making bad decisions and throwing around our money. Stop them and there’s never another stadium deal, or factory deal, or Walmart deal.

Sound business does not trump integrity.

There’s no loss of integrity for taking money legally offered. The fault is with the offerers. Good business says if you can get 1 million dollars of real estate for 100 thousand you do it. The duty of a business is to maximize profit for investors/ share holders, THAT is their integrity.

Legal is not necessarily moral, and this should be illegal. Is abortion moral? It’s legal.

It shouldn’t have to be illegal because it’s a losing proposition on the politicians’ side, they always come out behind. But they do it anyway. There’s a few very important big differences between this and abortion, one of the big ones is competition. All businesses have competitors, and if you don’t take the free money, they will.

By your definitions, there’s nothing wrong with taking welfare. But, simply making the government the agent of your theft does not make it right.

Welfare is a little different because it’s people not companies. People have a different life purpose than companies, companies exist for the SOLE purpose of making money, that’s it. People are supposed to have morals and providing for future generations and all that other stuff. A person taking welfare is probably failing on a bunch of other duties, a company doesn’t have any other duties.

The government isn’t the agent of the theft, the government is the PERPETRATOR, then the government gives it to somebody else.

It’s NOT stealing, it’s taking what is being freely offered before somebody else uses it to gain a market advantage on you. If your business regularly pays a lot more for land than your competition your business has higher costs, which must be passed onto customers, which puts you at a market disadvantage and eventually leads to you going out of business.

I work in the private sector. The difference between you and I is that I pay attention and bother to understand basic economics, and you just spout off hyperbole and pretend it has meaning.

Yes, you understand economics, and so do I. I juszt happedn to want a little morality in what we do. You would replace the ability to provide value to customers, owners and employees, with the ability to steal value from the taxpayers, and then transfer some of it to the owners, employees, and customers.

the aristocracy of pull. You should love Obamanomics. Do you own a solar energy company?

It’s freely offered by their duly elected representatives. If they wanted it to be different they’d get rid of them, but they don’t.

Morality is great in people. If you’re looking for morality in corporations you’re going to waste a lot of time and find nothing. I’m not replacing anything, I’m pointing out HOW THINGS WORK RIGHT NOW.

Part of your problem is that you ass-u-me that because I point out how things DO work that’s how I WANT them to work. But I don’t. But reality is reality and reality is that if you think corporations are going to give up free money you’re an idiot. If you want it to stop you MUST stop it at the politicians. Period. We’re done, because this is just a dumb circle of you pissing and moaning and insulting and refusing to understand. Told you you were being an ass.
