San Diego Police Chief William Lansdowne is fully supportive of the Obama/Feinstein gun grab, and says if lawmakers play it right Americans can be completely disarmed within "a generation."
Lansdowne has gone on record saying: "I could not be more supportive of the president for taking the position he has. I think it's courageous with the politics involved in this process. [And] I think it's going to eventually make the country safer."
He made it clear that it may take "a generation," but new laws could eventually take all guns off the streets.
This is quite a departure from other law enforcement personnel we've seen around the country--particularly Sheriffs--who've come out firmly against any infringement on the 2nd Amendment. We've cheered those officials for standing with the people, and now Lansdowne has taken a position completely opposite them.

The idea, I guess is that we could by stutter steps make it almost impossible for normal citizens to get their hands on new guns, trick them into turning in old ones, bankrupt gun manufacturers, and pick up the rest in SWAT raids, maybe. Also, the next generation of kids will be taught to think guns are as icky as cigarettes, and we have no more right to keep and bear them than someone has a right to rape their mother.
Let’s assume it works, agaknst the odds and for no good reason. What’s so utterly ridiculous about the whole thing is there’s already a huge black market for the stuff. It’s not like we can shut down gun factories all over the world, though our empire is vast. It would be prohibition all over again, if it isn’t already.
However, let’s assume, once again for no good reason, gubmint finally gets competent and does manage to disarm all regular joes. What happens then? Peace forever and ever, amen? No, we’ll just shoot eachother with zip-guns, arrows, slingshots, etc. Gang wars will feature armored infantry swinging claymore swords. Could be entertaining.

Considering all of the gun and ammo sales, NRA must be raking in the cash with their “round up†program, where purchases are rounded up to the next dollar and that amount going to NRA. I would bet that it would take a lot to break NRA at this point.
