Media Had No Incentive to Verify 'Heckle' Story
Big Journalism ^ | January 30, 2013 | John Nolte

Posted on 01/30/2013 4:28:04 PM PST by Bratch

Everything changed after the election, and it had nothing to do with Obama winning a second term.

For as long as I've been aware of the media, I have known that I live in a country with a media biased strongly in favor of Democrats. Fair enough. But there were rules in that world, one of them being that once a Democrat was safely elected or reelected, the media would do its job when it came to scandals and overall accountability.

This is why, after Obama won his second term, I thought we would finally get to the bottom of what happened in Libya, from the incompetence that left our consulate unforgivably vulnerable, straight through to the White House lying for two weeks to cover up the fact that a successful terrorist attack had occurred on its watch.

But that didn’t happen. The media didn't revert back to being the media; the media remained at its post as a Palace Guard.

Then the same thing happened with the fiscal cliff and Sandy Hook and immigration and the debt ceiling. Even with Obama safely snuggled in for term two, the media refused to do anything that would or could damage him politically. But it's not just Obama; the media is openly and viciously protecting the Democratic Party as a whole.

The Narrative is now: Democrats can do nothing wrong; Republicans can do nothing right.

The only incentive they had or wanted was to promote their agenda.

Anyone who has not already come to the same conclusion as the writer is living in a dream world. They aren’t even bothering to try to hide it any more. Those of us who used to giggle at the lies of Pravda and the guy in Iraq have lived to see the same thing come to roost here. Somehow it’s not very funny now.

The media has sunk lower than I even thought that they were capable of. Just like Zimmerman edit they crafted.

So what are we FReepers going to do about it? Complain to each other in an echo chamber?

Or are we going to get off our dead asses and build our own media?

The author is too trusting. The MSM is way beyond any simple bias now.

Pat Caddell called it.

Pat Caddell slams the media: They have become an “enemy of the people” Sept. 29, 2012(video 26:00)

Emotional Pat Caddell on the MSM ignoring Benghazi: “These people have no honor!” Oct. 27, 2012 (video at link 4:06)

The Media are enemies of the people!

Didn't CNN report this edited version as "The TRUTH?" CNN is an interstate provider of pay TV services. Wouldn't their promotion of this false news report be foisting fraud on their subscribers? Knowingly providing edited "news" in order to sway public support for political purposes? Fraud? Or maybe illegal political contributions? Something should be done to put pressure on the liars.

But the worst part is how NBC has a long history of promoting lies as "news." Anyone else remember the "side-saddle gas tank explosions" that they couldn't reproduce, so they installed incendiary devices to support their "news?"

Now that I think of it, so is MSNBC...

Running a story by the MSM is like firing a gun, once the bullet is fired there is no retracting it.

They know it.

Bastards.

In answer to your question on what we can do about it rather than complain, there are things we can do. However, it is more fun and less work just to complain.

The media didn't revert back to being the media; the media remained at its post as a Palace Guard.

Maybe someone needs to find out if money and favors are being given to the MSM by the government. And if so, how much... This feels beyond leftist idiocy... This smells of corruption.

I’ll give them an incentive. They’re nothing but propaganda, and I will have nothing to do with them. They’re garbage.

Actually, today’s Pravda is more believable than the American MSM!
