Staplers, hole punchers, telephones, whatever is on your desk. This is standard Active Shooter defenses if you are in a Gun Free Zone.
I have to admit that I have thought about what weapon to pick up if it happens where I work and my best bet is a soldering iron. Hide behind a wall and when he comes by thrust it into his neck. Maybe even heat it up first if he gives me time.

Sometimes we have to settle for some progress rather than the whole enchilada. You’ll find more educator willing to accept pepper spray and/or taser than willing to carry a gun. And the cost of armed police in every school in the Nation will clearly be a drain on limited resources.
I don’t know this part for sure, of course, — but I always suspected that’s why the creep’s daughters would have nothing to do with Gabby. Until after the incident, and he might have forced them then...

I’ve got this really cool knife, I think it would work better.
I’m pretty sure it’s not legal to carry it around in this city.
I just have the regular sized can under my desk.
