Because the guy has a TV in his bunker and they are being careful to not make the situation worse with TV coverage.
So THAT’S why they surrounded a hole in the ground with the equivalent of an armored division.
Gotta agree with you and (reluctantly) praise the media for this. They are downplaying this story in hopes of saving the boy.
