I heard something the other day that needs correction.
Rush Limbaugh talked about the "Obama tax increases" and if he was talking about Obamacare tax hikes he's right on the money because Barack Obama owns them. The GOP didn't support it.
But I got the impression El Rushbo was talking about the deal agreed to at the beginning of this year that restored 2 percent to the Social Security tax and raised taxes on "the rich."
John Boehner is co-owner of those tax increases with Barack Obama.
And just like the Obamacare taxes, they are economically destructive.
It looks like the United States is well into European territory with taxes up, the debt up and the economy's ability to provide tax revenue in decline.
The GOP has agreed to make the unsustainable 16 trillion dollar plus national debt even larger.
Its a joke to believe that the Republicans are going to do anything to change our trajectory towards economic disaster.
The GOP wants us to forget the economics with fireworks over Chuck Hagel. Senator Ted Cruz confronted Hagel and then his fellow Texas Senator, RINO John Cornyn joined in the attack on Hagel.
Having lived through Arlen Specter's trashing of Robert Bork, followed by his embrace of Clarence Thomas and trashing of Anita Hill when the next election approached, I laugh.
The Cornyn's, Lindsey Graham's and so on need to be primaried out next year.
And Conservatives must have Third Party options ready to go if the RINO's win the primary contest.
I will not vote for anymore of this nonsense.
This week we got the bipartisan embrace of "immigration reform" meaning amnesty for illegal immigrants.
I still remember Rush on the radio telling us back in the 1990's when people were complaining about illegal immigration that the food industry needed their cheap labor to keep prices low.
Its the food industry and other interests that are no doubt buying the GOP to support amnesty for illegals.
Hundreds of thousands of dollars were invested in GOP primary elections in Arizona last year to defeat supporters of SB 1070.
AS FOR CHEAPER FOOD PRICES, THAT'S A JOKE. THE PRICE OF FOOD IS GOING UP AT A DOUBLE DIGIT PACE RIGHT NOW. I KNOW, I DO THE GROCERY SHOPPING.
Labor unions and business interests are happier without a balanced budget, but unless we get one soon, this nation is doomed.
The only good answers are cutting spending and cutting taxes to stimulate revenue.
There are no other good answers and we may need a third party to promote the real answers to what ails this nation.
You forgot one important item....the liberals won the election! And elections have consequences. Hussein won White House, Demorats gained seats in Senate and House. Less republicans voted in 2012 than in 2008. Now we have to live with the consequences.

Praise be to Obama, my paycheck is $90 less than it was a month ago due to SS deduction, and my retirement pension is also $90 less than it was a month ago due to increased health care costs. That’s $2100 a year less. I live alone, no dependents.
If people have been following the story line of the ABC series “Scandal”, one of the plots was the substitution of preprogrammed chips, intended to register the tally of votes electronically while providing a printout to the voter, that declared an extraordinarily high count for one candidate over the other. The printout registered what the voter had actually had selected, while the tally was skewed for a different candidate.
One suspects a similar fraud took place in a number of districts where ordinarily, Republicans would be fully competitive, but some mysteriously large margins were recorded that did not square with numbers of each bloc of voters.
Unless such fraud is detected and widely exposed, this has just become the new normal for elections.
But of course, that is just silly, and “couldn’t happen” here.
No conspiracy. Because if conspiracy does not exist everywhere, it exists nowhere.
Oh, on Plan B - like yeah, the GOP could work very, very hard to win control of the Senate and increase their hold on the House.
Instead, the GOP has long been a toothless, not-even paper anything. It is far less than a herd of cats and "wicked awesome" in need of a serious culling.
Effective counters to divide-and-conquer tactics should have been learned on the playground. For the GOP - not.
The joy of internecine self-destruction is a very old and practiced GOP art form. They cannot even "buy" a clue.
To govern is not to be liked. Tough - get over it.
Stall, deny, delay, ... and wait for the next time is just stupid.
An idea - today, freeze all government spending at their current levels. Period. No if's or and's or but's. Next, moving forward, in quarterly increments, reduce spending by 1% each quarter, and continue until there is a "real" (versus "smoke-and-mirrors") balanced budget.
Don’t bash Obama! He moved me into the 400,000+ income range. I thought I earned less than 40,000 so I was safe when he promised no new taxes on the “middle” class. After looking at the withholding on my last paychecks, I realize that I must have made it above middle class. I am so thankful that I made it into the “I got mine” club!
Unless you have a better way of funding social security, or getting rid of it, your comment is illogical. The reduction of the patroll tax in the first place, was assinine. The only reason Obama pushed for it, was because a reduction in the income tax would not have benefitted the 47% that don't pay federal taxes. By reducing the payroll tax, it directly benefitted the 47% and after the first $100k+, it stopped benefitting "the rich".
The payroll tax reduction was stupid, as it accelerated the bankruptcy of social security. To now claim that it is now a negative to restore the payroll tax is economic stupidity.
My memory is poor (altogether possible) or the author is a liar. I'd very much like to see a transcript of Rush saying that.
On the other hand, did he say it sarcastically? You can't put that in the printed word.
The way El Rushbo explained it was that people in the food business told him they needed the labor from south of the border to keep food prices low.
Rush got the flak from the agri-food people because so many callers to his show were speaking out against illegal immigration.
I haven’t seen that program but I have no doubts whatsoever that this past election was stolen by fraud, probably a lot of it very similar to what you described.
I realize the restoration of the 2% FICA tax is technically an increase. However, it was increased back to it’s original contribution level. It should never have been reduced in the first place.
I have been out of the work force now for 7 years. In my previous 52 years of contribution to Social Security, I do not recall one time where the contribution was suspended, or reduced.
The resumption of the 2% should not have been a surprise to anyone. When it was enacted, it was part of a stimulus plan, and was not intended to be a permanent cut.
Taxes are going to continue to increase. Obamacare is just the beginning. We are now faced with unions complaining about the increased cost to their benefit plans and their solution is to petition the government for relief. That relief will happen, as the Democrats need a wedge for the 2014 mid terms, and Obama can ill afford the upset the unions. The rest of us will have to pay for the union’s reduced Obamacare cost.
Fewer jobs translate into lower government tax revenues. The remaining work force will have to make up that difference. The downward spiral has been occurring for some time now, and will only continue at a faster pace.
In 1964 the liberals really won an election by landslide proportions (LBJ over Goldwater by around 20 percent, control of the House and Senate).
Quite a few Republicans hopped on to support the Great Society for the next few years.
But Obama won this last election by several percentage points and Republicans still control the House.
If Romney wasn’t seen as too liberal maybe some conservatives would have come out to support him and the result would have been different.
It doesn’t make political sense to me for them to cave in like they are on taxes, debt ceiling, immigration etc. etc. etc.
This was a much closer election and reflects a large group of conservatives out there who are disgusted (they stayed home) and want a new alternative to the GOP.
They are scared of losing in 2014. They have given up. Just like the 22 million unemployed. They don't even bother to fight.
