The tumult at CNN that has seen several contributors leave the cable news network continued on Wednesday, when Soledad O'Brien's morning show, “Starting Point,” was canceled because her program's small audience was “too ethnic, based on the high concentration of minority viewers.”
Despite ending O'Brien's morning show, a CNN spokesman told Politico on Thursday that "Soledad is very important to the network, and we're discussing various options with her.”

Her mother Estella is a black high school teacher from Cuba and her father Edward is a white Australian of Irish descent and is a mechanical engineer.

She grew up in Smithtown, Lawn Guyland, which is 95.5% white, 2.4% Asia. The median family income in 2007 was $110,000 Bucks.
I grew up in Jamaica, NY, (where Micheal Savage tried to teach JHS Math), median income in 2000, $39,553. My old zip code (11434) is currently 2% white, probably largely due to gentrification. Growing up, I envied people living in affluent SAFE areas like Smithtown. As an adult, I cordially despise people who grew up in those snotty towns and now make a pretense of embracing da po' folks, but won't give you a flying f* at a rolling donut.
