PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- "I will put everything I've got into this -- and so will Joe -- but I tell you, the only way we can change is if the American people demand it." said President Barack Obama, urging Congress to act now for stricter gun control.
Since his re-election, guns and ammunition have been flying off the shelves at gun stores, as the president promises stiffer gun laws. The rush for gun purchases and concealed weapon permits is on -- and the biggest spike in new gun sales is to women.
While women make up only 20 percent of all concealed weapons permit holders, the number of women carrying concealed weapons is growing every day. CBS 12's Jana Eschbach took the gun safety course, passing for the permit, and became one of the 200,000 in the state to have a permit to carry a concealed weapon.
"Look in that V...don't touch the trigger until you are ready," said St. Lucie Shooting Center's weapons instructor Ed Hensen.
Working more and more with first time gun buyers who are female has its challenges.

Any woman who watches TV or goes to the movies and notes that the #1 theme for entertainment in America is the rape, torture and murder of women would naturally decide to arm herself. The more women who do this, the fewer rapists and murderers will be preying on women.
Make it a fashion statement and they will all be packing.

I woman that I work with bought ran out and bought a high-power rifle just after the CT shooting. We tried to talk her out of it. We told her just to use her “Non-Violent Conflict Resolution” skills she learned in college, and also to carry a cell phone around with her, so police could be there in a flash, if a bad guy showed up. We tried to explain to her that with women in combat, they are now equal to men, and she shouldn’t have any trouble fighting off a bad guy...that she needed to make a statement on equality and NOT buy the gun, after all none of us had bought one recently.
She wasn’t fooled, and she bought it...and so went the last AR-15 in my part of Houston. We were all ready to zoom over the store and fight over it - but she won - it’s hers. Dammit.

I was thinking the other day, during a situational awareness opportunity (4 guys hanging around early one morning),
I’m a blackbelt, but I’d stand no chance against 3-4 guys, only a gun would equalize that situation.
A woman, even less so.
Also the low-profile race war has a lot of female casualties. I won’t drum up visions of blacks raping white women; the fact is that when you see black panhandlers they back off much more readily when the intended “donor” is a white man. They get very aggressive with the white women, and the resulting forfeiture of cash simply encourages the parasite to park himself at the same place every day.
The simple fact is that women are easier targets for any assault or robbery due to their stature/physique, so the guns are a good idea...
Likewise - and I trust her with my back. As Louis L'Amour was wont to say, "She's a woman to walk the river with you."

LOL. Great post! Most of the women I work around are hyper libs who actually believe crap like this, along with a bunch of other utopian nonbsense they were fed in college. Not so ironically, the one lady in the office without a degree is someone you wouldn’t want to fool with. You can almost sense her “bring it on” attitude so I have to assume she must be packing a cannon. :)

the panhandlers do seem to prey on us women more. I don’t even say no, I just act like I haven’t heard a thing, walk around them and go on my way. That is because I don’t think men should be asking women for money.
Now on occasion I give a woman panhandler a little, God sends beggars to those he loves is a Jewish belief and it could be Jesus.
Yeah, this post is totally illogical, but real.
As an aside, which style?
There is only one woman in my office (she isn’t the only one working for my employer, just the only one in the branch I work for). AFAIK, she only has a high school education, but she is NOT to be trifled with.
In talking to her, I’ve learned that one of her hobbies is Civil War re-enactments. She owns a few CW-era military rifles and finds it quite amusing that the gun-grabbers are making such a fuss over scary-looking “assault weapons” that fire .223 ammo when a Hawkins muzzleloader fires a round over twice that size.
She would be well advised to ditch the evil black assault rifle and equip herself with a pair of Homeland Security Official Scissors.
