Mpls. Mayor Asks Businesses to Pursue Gun Control Reform

Minneapolis Mayor, R.T. Rybak, has a strong message for makers of guns and ammunition who do business with the city. Mayor Rybak says he wants them to be partners in the pursuit of "common sense" gun control reform.

The city buys about a million dollars worth of guns and ammunition each year for police. The primary vendors are Remington, Federal Ammunition and Smith & Wesson. The Mayor says he wants to dig a little deeper into the backgrounds of those companies.

Mayor Rybak tells 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS, "if they want to be partners with us, we will work with them. If they want to oppose us in gun control reform, we might want to reconsider doing business with them." The Mayor added, "the citizens of Minneapolis might now want to pay for guns and ammunition from companies that are not serious about making this a safer place to live." Mayor Rybak says part of his idea is to look into how much money each company gives to the National Rifle Association.

Mayor Rybak says he has talked to the White House about his bold position and intends to continue the dialogue with President Obama when he visits Minneapolis Monday.

Dear Remington, Federal, and Smith & Wesson,
I am a member of a group (NRA) that buys a hell of a lot
more guns and ammo each year, than the city of MPLS.
Should you decide to go along with this poser Rybak’s
threats, and become part of the problem, we can shop else-where.

Rybak has too much time on his hands. A recall effort might improve his focus on important matters.

I support Minneapolis Mayor R. T. Rybak. The city should drop Remington, Federal, and Smith & Wesson. Instead he can contract with the Chinese to meet Minneapolis’ needs. Oh, wait, there's a Clinton-era EO that says we can't do business with them. I guess Rybak had better see his buddy Barack on that. Or, he could contact Vladimir Putin for help. One communist should want to help another. Do China and Russia provide spare parts, product support, and training for the Minneapolis PD? I wonder what it would cost to reequip the MPD with Combloc arms and ammo? Rybak could feel the love!

Fine. ATK ahould immediately cut off all orders to MLPS law enfrocement. The civilian market is still in panic mode and would easily eat up that extra million in ammo.

When the cops run out of bullets and no one will fix their guns, maybe Commie dirtbag RT will finally get the hint.

If they don't like that, they can buy from Russia or China.

I think Chinese firearms and ammo have been banned from import since Clinton was in office. If there was a government / law enforcement exception, I don't remember it.

RT would just raise taxes and build one with a bike path inside it.

RT has been working to get all gun shops driven out of Stoopidapolis. I think there is just one shop left inside of city limits.

I am so glad to be back in Texas. No more Rybak or Crazy Eyes Mark.
