The biggest donors in the Republican Party are financing a new group to recruit seasoned candidates and protect Senate incumbents from challenges by far-right conservatives and Tea Party enthusiasts who Republican leaders worry could complicate the party’s efforts to win control of the Senate.
-snip-
The Conservative Victory Project, which is backed by Karl Rove and his allies who built American Crossroads into the largest Republican super PAC of the 2012 election cycle, will start by intensely vetting prospective contenders for Congressional races to try to weed out candidates who are seen as too flawed to win general elections.

I do not know who I despise more, the rats of these dirt bags.

What is the point of having a senate controlled by Rinos who will just act like democrats anyway. Better these senators have their feet held to the fire knowing they will be primaried if they don’t vote in the way the people who elected them expect them to do. It is high time for a third party but we don’t need to make yet another one. There are two established parties out there, the libertarian and the constitution, they differ quite a bit from each other, but they both believe in limited government, individual responsibility and liberty. So my advice: Examine them both carefully, decide which is the best fit, and leave the GOP, it is over. And stop voting for the lesser of 2 evils, until we stop doing this, evil doing is what we are going to get!
These dirt bags. They want another shot at losing an election. Next thing you know they will want to change the Republican Party logo (which DOES need changing) to a half elephant/half donkey image with a hammer and sickle implanted on its forehead. Or a pinata. Establishment Republican bastards make me sick.
Fight! Make your calls, emails! And dont mince words!!!!
I make it a point to do so at least once a week from here...when I return to the States Im gonna increase my efforts!
Who needs Conservatives? A Huntsman/Bush ticket will surely get the base to the voting booth.
Yeah, Senators Tommy Thompson and Connie Mack etc. can attest to the value of the establishement’s picks.
Rove’s boy lost the presidential election - his next boys for these senate seats will lose, too, then his choice, Jeb Bush, will lose the 2016 presidential election. Rove gathers millions of dollars for his boys but they still lose.
OK, you stupid bas72r$. You’ve already lost 2012 because you failed to bring real conservatives to your table and out to vote. I guess you think that trying to bring more RINO,s along will help your cause. ‘Ain’t gonna happen you jerk.
Amen brother.
Tokyo Rove’s RINO Victory Project.
This is just another scam by Tokyo Rove to steal even more money from GOP donors and pocket his “consulting fees” while losing.
Karl Rove and his establishment got their perfect Presidential ideological candidate last time, a “Moderate” (truly a Liberal), and the result was the same as every time the Republican Party runs a “Moderate” nominee, a loss. Now they will continue to employ such a strategy on the Senate?
Either the Republican establishment truly likes being the minority party or they are truly blind to reality.
Question is, does the Conservative plurality continue to attempt to regain control of this Party, or do we look elsewhere?
It’s all about Karl Rove scamming consulting fees from GOP donors. It’s not about winning for Tokyo Rove. It’s about lining his pockets with scammed dollars and screwing GOP donors.
So this crew would prefer candidates like McCain (loser) and Romney(loser)?
How’s that working out for them...and us?
If only all the legit conservatives could/would shut the spigot off to the GOP. You’d be better off flushing you money down the toilet, at least it couldn’t be used to support traitors. Unless you’re directly supporting a TP candidate, no money, no volunteering, no nothing.
I guess that is supposed to mean victory OVER conservatives.
Lugar probably would have won in Indiana in 2012. Another candidate might have won in Missouri that year. Castle could have won in Delaware in 2012.
At the presidential level, Reagan won as a solid conservative. The other winners, Eisenhower, Nixon, the Bushes, had spottier records. Goldwater, another solid conservative, lost by a landslide.
ALL you need to know:
Representative Steve King of Iowa could be an early target of the Conservative Victory Project.
