The battle for the heart and soul of the Republican Party has begun, and at the center is none other than one-time political mastermind Karl Rove. For those of us who saw this coming last summer, such a revelation is of little surprise. On one side is the Tea Party, Breitbart.coms Ben Shapiro wrote in an analysis Sunday. On the other side stand Karl Rove and his establishment team, posing as tacticians while quietly undermining conservatism. Shapiros commentary came in response to a New York Times report that Rove and Steven J. Law, president of American Crossroads, have joined forces with the biggest donors in the Republican Party to create the Conservative Victory Project. The groups goal is to recruit seasoned candidates and protect Senate incumbents from challenges by far-right conservatives and Tea Party enthusiasts who Republican leaders worry could complicate the partys effort to win control of the Senate, The Times reported. Shapiro identified Christine ODonnell of Delaware and Richard Mourdock of Indiana as prime examples of tea party candidates who complicate Republican efforts. While I dont disagree with the premise of Shapiros argument, I say, Where have you been?

No choice but to make tremendous headway towards discrediting Rove & Company by, and in 2014. There has to be massive support for other than the above which is whomever the GOPe selects for us.
TEA Party was a spontaneous movement of Americans against the establishment. It’s time to reactivate that American spirit again, and organize sufficiently to not detract from the spontaneity, but keep up the energy until election 2014.
That’s the only way I can see us winning at this point in time. Otherwise third party, and that breaks up the vote handing a win to the Democrats.
Here’s one article on Rove’s 2012 campaign earnings.... I have no idea if it’s accurate or not.
It would have been nice to have this fight during the primary instead of having the eGOP go progressive and shut down debate. Too bad. Whatever might have came out of that primary discussion could have challenged Team obama on a more open field.
But, you know?..maybe it's better this way and at this time. You know...after they lost. Again.
After their ideas and their approach lost. Again.
What does the eGOP have to stand on other than a record of appeasement, political failure and record spending?
So, now Rove wants to fight about heart and soul? Great! Let's have that fight.
The eGOP's republican party stands for compromise and appeasement. Is that something you want to fight for? Or vote for?
Clearly, the answer has been "NO!!!"
The only way people say yes to that is if they are scared and have no other option, and even that wasn't enough this last time. Loyal Republicans still stayed home!
Rove and ilk are such slimeballs I bet they were not only denying $ and support to their disfavored TP candidates but were probably demonizing them and likely lent some sort of direct support to their DRat opponents. Cannot see ever voting for any Rovian puke candidates again.
There's nothing 'quiet' about it, Ben. It's war.
My how things change.
I remember back around when I joined FR, the mantra here was
Rove you magnificent bastard. Now it’s
Rove you turd. (I agree)
There.
