IBTTARAPS (In Before The Tourist Areas Are Pretty Safe!)
That's a scary thought.... I would never, ever, ever go to Mexico. I know this happened in Acapulco, but I hear the Yucatan is deteriorating badly, too. Plenty to see and do here in my own country.
(The mystery remains how the Colonel managed to return being an illegal immigrant.)
Mexico has a virtual ban on citizens owning guns.

My husband and I vacationed in Puerto Vallarta every year for three or four years when we were courting and after we got married.

Vacation in Cancun every year (was there 2 months ago), Puerto Vallarta last year, TJ several times a year and going to Los Cabos next month. I aways rent a car and drive around the coutryside. Never had one safety issue, ever.

So sad. Mexico used to be a Fabulous place for Americans to vacation after Cuba fell to Castro. It was great for a couple of decades there. Not any more.
I will never set foot in Mexico. There is no point and everything to lose. Too bad because it has some really very beautiful places.
I’ve always felt I was born to late. I really wish I had been born 30 years earlier and graduated college in 1950 instead of the 1980.
