Good for Bruce. It’s about time someone from Hollyweird stood up for the Second Amendment, and didn’t descend into the anti-gun hysteria.

FINALLY! One guy in Hollywood with common sense who understands the bigger picture and has some common sense. Now if we could get a lot more to jump on board that are real men. Liam Neeson next maybe?

“...also dismisses any link between Hollywood shootouts and real-life gun violence.”

...Bravo! Jimmy Cagney had “shootouts” all the time in the 30’s and there weren’t any mass shootings in theatres that I know of. Prescription drugs and bad parenting are most of the problem.

Well, there goes Bruce’s career!

Holywood socialists don’t take too kindly to anyone with conservatives views.

Of course he does after Stallone’s movie flopped big-time last weekend after Stallone called for an assault weapons ban. Willis isn’t stupid with a new Die Hard movie coming out soon.

My parents had some control over what I watched when I was a kid.

Today we have subjective reality being taught in the schools, parents who barely know their children, and as you said the drugs.

Thank goodness at least one “hollywood action hero” has some real cojones! I always liked Bruce Willis, now even more so.

He’s got the courage to not embrace the loony left (the money folks on the Left Coast) just to keep his fan base and future movie audiences.

Are any of those cowardly action heroes also against fast cars now because they might inspire us to drive faster? And couldn’t those fast cars be involved in accidents that kill people? No, they haven’t come out yet to do that. They’re just making sure to “cover their own sixes” so they are politically correct.

To quote the crazed Marine colonel (Jack Nicholson): “they can’t handle the truth!”

Similar to the controversy over some heavy metal music in the 80’s that allegedly triggered suicides among some adolescents. (eg, Suicide Solution) Dennis Miller put this in perspective when he said if some kid kills himself after listening to a song, it’s a safe bet he’s had serious psych and emotional problems long before he’s ever heard of Ozzie Osborne. But it still is hypocritical to see Mr. Willis’ colleagues calling for gun bans and then brandish guns, even if they’re fake, in their movies.

Clint Eastwood, Bruce Willis, Tom Selleck, ...

Good to hear someone in Hollywood who isn't addicted to the hypocritical anti-gun Kool-Aid. Maybe personal financial interest had something to do with it, maybe not. Bruce made similar statements back in the 90's during the first 'Assault Weapons' ban.

Can't agree with him about the 'movies not providing an influence', though. This form of mass-media drives much of our culture, good and bad. You would have to be deliberately blind not to see it.

Arnold bombed one week, then Sly. Hopefully Bruce will have better luck.

The guy that saw the Batman movie before killing indicates that movies DO influence behavior.

Of course they do. Also books, music, all ideas that go into your head influence thought patterns and, thus, behavior.

But censorship is not the answer. Changing hearts is. If consumers want healthy media they will turn off the raunchy stuff. That's not happening...yet.

I will make it a point to see Bruce’s his next movie. Happily, Stallone opened his mouth before I wasted any money on his latest.

Now that’s something you don’t see every day. An actor who is actually smart enough to protect his career by not alienating his fans with liberal talking points. I predict that his newest Die Hard movie will be a smash hit because of his statement. Very clever marketing, dude.

I grew up with an overdose of on-screen violence via Tom & Jerry, Bugs Bunny, and a slew of Western movie shootouts. I don’t have the slightest inclination to go kill random people in real life.
