Environmentalists have cheered the decision by the Obama administration to tap Recreational Equipment Inc. CEO Sally Jewell as secretary of the interior, a position to be vacated by Ken Salazar.

“In Jewell, President Obama chose a leader with a demonstrated commitment to preserving the higher purposes public lands hold for all Americans – recreation, adventure, and enjoyment,” Sierra Club executive director Michael Brune said in a statement.

“Jewell’s unique experience and her love of America’s outdoors will be invaluable to the stewardship of the waters, lands and wildlife we’ve been entrusted to protect for our children,” said Frances Beinecke, president of the Natural Resources Defense Council.

I wouldn’t be surprised if she has ties to Eco-terrorists.

Why are these no-growth flat-earth nutjobs giving the nod for someone they themselves previously submitted to the regime in the first place?

Of course she gets the nod from environmentalists.

She’s made a living selling GoreTex to rich hippies who parade around the country saying they’re all about the environment(see OWS), etc. And they get to do that because their parents don’t want them around, so they give them access to a bank account and a credit card and throw them out of the house(see any PHISH, Widespread Panic, Trey Anastasio concert).

They get to do that until their folks tell them its time to grow up and then they put away their patchouli oil and move back to Westchester, North Jersey or Beacon Hill.

EI is the Cabela's/Bass Pro Shop for granola heads and wannabe's

The irony of REI is, it was founded as a Seattle area co-op by climbers and hikers who were tired of buying gear at high price stores.

The price of gear sold there today - especially if it has a logo on it - is painfully high.

But then if you don;t pay taxes and have your medical covered by the government, I guess you can afford it.

Anyway, I digress....

No, not for Americans that use guns or motorized vehicles.

Yet another ecofreak forced on America.

I worked there part time a while back. Got real disgusted. As far as I am concerned, REI’s philosophy of only supporting outdoor activities that are self powered is closet discrimination against the disabled.

I one time pointed out that hunters and fisherman contribute more to conservation and the environment than the tree huggers. It did not go over well.

People like her have been ruling our world for some time. They sponsor most of what you see, hear and read. They are the gatekeepers of candidate choices. They have their fingers in every locale. They’re obsessed with control.
