Gun, ammo bills pending in the Calif. Legislature

Lawmakers have introduced more than a dozen bills seeking further restrictions for guns and ammunition this year, with more measures proposed by Senate Democrats on Thursday:

AJR5, Assemblyman Jimmy Gomez, D-Los Angeles, is a resolution urging the president and Congress to pass U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein's legislation prohibiting the sale, transfer, importation and manufacturing of assault weapons and large-capacity magazines.

AB48, Assemblywoman Nancy Skinner, D-Berkeley, requires ammunition sellers to be licensed and ammunition buyers to have and show valid identification, similar to those covering gun sales. Sales of large amounts of ammunition to an individual buyer within a five-day period would have to be reported to local law enforcement agencies. Bans "clip kits" that can convert approved ammunition feeding device into large-capacity magazines, defined as a magazine that can hold more than 10 bullets.

AB134, Assemblymen Dan Logue, R-Linda, and Allan Mansoor, R-Costa Mesa, bans counties from making public the telephone numbers and addresses of people holding or applying for concealed weapons permits. Authorities could still release the names of those who have a permit. The bill responds to a New York state newspaper's recent publishing of the names and addresses of legal gun owners.

AB169, Assemblyman Roger Dickinson, D-Sacramento, prohibits peace officers and members of the military from selling handguns that are not on the Department of Justice's list of approved weapons to buyers who are not also peace officers and members of the military and thus are not eligible to own the handguns. A similar previous bill, AB2460, was vetoed by Gov. Jerry Brown last year. Both bills respond to a federal indictment charging two Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies with selling such weapons for a profit.

Kali is still trying to find a way around the vote against Proposition 15 in 1982 that would have banned new handguns and forced registration on the public.

So now they are trying to get around it by nickle and dimeing it to death with chintzy laws.

DRONES ATTACKING US CITIZENS

Law abiding gun owners are under attack by political assault drones like US Senators Barbara Boxer and Diane Feinstein, and CA Assemblywoman Nancy Skinner.

How about, not complying with it and giving them a finger?

We’ve reached this point you know.

Why do you waste capital letters on these clowns names? They deserve NO respect for trying to abrogate our rights. As far as kali goes, how dare ny have a stricter gun control act than ours. A case of mines bigger than yours I guess. The attack of the killer drones continues. All they need is little bee suits with yellow and black stripes. I wonder which current legislation or proposed legislation would have stopped former lapd officer (who apparently LOVES hussein) from carrying out his current activities. Will they also bring charges against him for air pollution for burning his truck which I’m sure released all kinds of toxins in to the kali atmosphere.

Molon labe.

I am happy to space my ammunition purchases one week apart, every week when the truck comes at WallyWorld.

Of course, the next non-infringement to come is a limit on the amount of ammunition or reloading components that a person can possess, and a limit on the number of magazines a person carries. But no new limits on murder or mayhem.

Question for California legislature (and New York)...

Do you have any idea how many law abiding, tax paying (and business owning) citizens will take this as a cue to leave the Golden (and Empire) states for more Second Amendment-friendly states?

One suspects that the number is significant.

The Honey Badger don’t care! He’ll buy all his ammo in Reno.

Got this this morning from a gun dealer friend;

“Interesting status report from Valley Guns in West Virginia :

Status of gun industry

Attention F.B. fans: to follow will be several IMPORTANT Info updates about the status of the gun industry currently, followed by an INVENTORY UPDATE: We traveled to Texas for Industry meetings concerning the shortages, here’s what we were told.

Smith & Wesson-is running at Full capacity making 300+ guns/day-mainly M&P pistols. They are unable to produce any more guns to help with the shortages.

RUGER: Plans to increase from 75% to 100% in the next 90 days.

FNH: Moving from 50% production to 75% by Feb 1st and 100% by March 1. Remington-Maxed out!

Armalite: Maxed out.

DPMS: Can’t get enough parts to produce any more product.

COLT: Production runs increasing weekly...bottle necked by Bolt carrier’s.

LWRC:Making only black guns, running at full capacity...can’t get enough gun quality steel to make barrels.

Springfield Armory: Only company who can meet demand but are running 30-45 days behind.

AMMO: Every caliber is now Allocated! We are looking at a nation wide shortage of all calibers over the next 9 months. All plants are producing as much ammo as possible w/ of 1 BILLION rounds produced weekly. Most is military followed by L.E. and civilians are third in line.

MAGPUL is behind 1 MILLION mags, do not expect any large quantities of magpul anytime soon.

RELOADERS... ALL Remington, Winchester , CCI & Federal primers are going to ammo FIRST. There are no extra’s for reloading purposes... it could be 6-9 months before things get caught up. Sorry for the bleak news, but now we know what to expect in the coming months. Stay tuned, we’ll keep you posted...

Related commentary from Bob Owens :
They didn’t know when they’d be getting anything back in stock, from magazines to rifles to pistols. Manufacturers were running full-bore, but couldn’t come close to keeping up with market demand. It wasn’t just the AR-15s, the AK-pattern rifles, the M1As, and the FALs that were sold out. It really hit me when I realized that the World War-era M1 Garands, M1 carbines, and Enfield .303s were gone, along with every last shell. Ubiquitous Mosin-Nagants—of which every gun store always seems to have 10-20—were gone. So was their ammo. Only a dust free space marked their passing. I’ve never seen anything like it.

Every weapon of military utility designed within the past 100+ years was gone. This isn’t a society stocking up on certain guns because they fear they may be banned. This is a society preparing for war.

Barack Obama, Dianne Feinstein and the rest of the Statists have done more to promote gun ownership than the NRA ever did. Well done, Democrats!

And for diane sweinstein, of all people, to introduce that particular legislation, is an absolute arrogant, spit in the face, thumb to the nose case of “laws for the little people”. Considering what her husband did.

Yeah, and I hate it, because there are plenty of people who will draw the line when it comes to their Second Amendment rights, but will bring all their other leftist leanings to their new conservative home, never seeming to understand that chipping away at people ‘s other rights (speech, taxes, property, etc) is just how they got in the soup re: the 2A
