The U.S. Navy will delay the refueling of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) for an unknown period because of the uncertain fiscal environment due to the ongoing legislative struggle, the service told Congress in a Friday message obtained by USNI News.

They postponed Truman deployment to the Persian Gulf yesterday. Money is tight!

Maybe this BS for “global force for good” is too expensive.

BRING EM ALL HOME. Screw the global force for good crap.

Yet somehow the Navy found money to purchase breathalyzers (oops. I mean "alcohol detection devices") for every command as well as the training on how to properly use them.

Yep! Gotta love Obama's Navy! No money for fuel but you'd better be sober when you cross the quarterdeck or you'll be packing your bags for civilian life.

Obama is happy

He is achieving his goals, few people are raising a fuss and his media are keeping the sheeple pliant and quiet

We’ve got money for a $110 million dollar embassy in Suriname and another $100 mil for an aquarium in Brazil. We’ve also got money to erect windmills all over the damn place.

This is right out of the socialist playbook.

Whenever budget cuts are required they do not look to the fraud and waste, they cut (or threaten to cut) something the citizens care about.

On the local level it is police and fire, closing parks, library and so on.

Obama is just doing it on a national scale.

Actually for this administration it is a win win. They would be happy to de-fund our entire military in order to give more money to the parasites.

I chose the word “parasite” on purpose. We are way beyond being a compassionate people of helping those through no fault of their own need help.

Like all parasites they are sucking the life out of the host. Eventually they will be the cause of the death of our once great nation.

No money for fuel

Just to be clear a Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH) for a Nuclear-powered carrier is a 3 billion dollar, 3-year long process. It isn't buying some fuel and pouring it in a tank.

We can't take freedom of the seas for granted. Our commerce depends on it. Without the U.S. Navy, pirates will multiply everywhere. And it'll happen quicker than you'll think.

Even without the war, I don’t believe it. Shipyard availabilities for refueling nuclear warships are planned years in advance. The new core is already built and ready for installation. Carriers use a lot of EFPH’s and driving slow is not really an option.

Hopefully any reader will realize that “refueling” of a nuclear vessel is just a tab bit more complex than pulling up to a gas pump.

Well, if you set something like that up for target practice, why would you want to advertise that it can’t move unless you want it destroyed?
