Forensic evidence both supports, casts doubt on Zimmerman claims

Forensic evidence compiled in the killing of Trayvon Martin supports George Zimmerman's claim that Martin was leaning over him when he fired his gun, but casts doubt on Zimmerman's timeline on the night he shot and killed the unarmed teen, according to a review by a forensic expert for Local 6.

Michael Knox, a retired Jacksonville Sheriff's Office detective and crime scene investigator, published some of the findings in his book, "Intermediate Range: The Forensic Evidence in the Killing of Trayvon Martin" (available through Amazon.com here).

Knox and Local 6 calculated the exact moment Zimmerman slammed shut his door as he left his truck at 7:11:48 p.m. on Feb. 26, 2011 to follow Martin through the Retreat at Twin Lakes community.

Knox then retraced Zimmerman's footsteps, as Zimmerman described them in a reenactment for police videotaped the day after the shooting, and compared the results to a recording of Zimmerman's nonemergency call to Sanford police.

Among his conclusions:

If Zimmerman's retelling of the event were accurate, the confrontation Zimmerman described with Martin would have occurred much sooner than it actually did;

Zimmerman covered more time and distance after leaving his truck that night than he revealed to police;

based on the times and distances Zimmerman said he covered, Zimmerman would have still been on the phone with Sanford police when he claims he was attacked by Martin;

had Martin walked directly to his destination, his father’s girlfriend's townhome, he would have made it there safely before Zimmerman ended his nonemergency call to Sanford police;

Martin was in fact leaning over Zimmerman when the fatal shot was fired, just as Zimmerman has maintained.

One of the things I am proudest of about being on the non-leftist side of the spectrum is the fact that we didn’t hang Zimmerman out to dry for being a Democrat.

You know that it would be different if the shoe was on the other foot.

Now it’s the Martins’s/Fultons’ turn to spit it out:

How does this guy know how fast Zimmerman was walking/jogging to keep up with Martin?

Right. How long does it take to stand in place a couple of times to look around and wait for Martin to appear from between houses, etc. Would take a while, esp. if Z was talking on the phone while standing & looking around. Somebody already figured this out.

He’s probably correct; Trayvon went home or to a stash spot, and dropped off some cough medicine he had to make “purple drank” before he came back to confront Zimmerman. I don’t know, but guess that the police did not search his apartment once they found out who he was. Might have been interesting to see what they found.

The “meat & potatoes” of the evidence exonerates Zimmerman. Oh dear, we can’t have that!

Oopsie - you are correct. I meant to write I hoped Zimmerman sued all the miscreants. My mistake - thanks for catching it..

“Jacksonville former forensic investigator” means he is not going to say anything bad about Jack Boot Nazi SA Angela Corey...who I am sure this guy has dealt with in the past

All the state has is hoping that Zimmerman’s statements may contradict themselves in front of a Black Racist/White Guilt Liberal jury...if they can find one in Seminole. Zimmerman does not have to testify, at all. The state cannot explain away Martin on top off Zimmerman when he was shot

Meanwhile, the GOP Governor, GOP AG, GOP SA, are all peeing my tax dollars away on a case that will never get a upheld-able conviction. The prosecutors do not want to release evidence to the defense...which is trouble for them right there

The prosecution sent out trayvon’s cell phone to retreive its’ internal logs. The phone came back missing the 24 hours surrounding this incident.

It also appears to have come back a flip phone. Now we have two phones and two DeeDees.

What is going on???

DMS-7 Black TMobile brand cell flip-phone.

Item Notes: Item was collected from the grass at the courtyard, (obj. mkr.7)

So is DMS 7 now a flip phone??? It wasn’t before.

Did the state flip phones???

Granted that Zimmerman is a Democrat who voted for Obama for such crucial, principled reasons as the color of his skin and - did I mention that Obama is black?
But, in all fairness, you have to take account of the “white hispanic” meme. By launching that meme, journalism drafted Zimmerman as an “honorary” Republican. They used Zimmerman as a brush to tar us with - giving us a motive to support Zimmerman despite the fact that Zimmerman is a low-information voter. Who, having been mugged by reality, might actually have had some sense pounded into his head.

Again, I am a little bit proud that we don’t stoop to lies as the others do.

On the other hand, I wish we had more success in using the truth.

We don’t have the requisite propaganda power to get away with lies. "Liberals” - and the journalists who are so arrogant that they actually argue from the premise that they are themselves objective - occupy the commanding heights of propaganda institutions. That this is so is widely understood by conservatives, and masked by propaganda from the eyes of the low information voter, and by hubris from the eyes of the politically informed “liberal.”
On the other hand, I wish we had more success in using the truth.
We have such a propaganda power disadvantage that we can’t even humiliate a sitting president who has committed his international prestige to a blatant lie - the “anti-Islam video riot” that never was - to cover the fact that he was asleep while his representatives were dying in Benghazi.
