Yes, the second amendment is about the only thing that guarantees the first amendment. I know this is a difficult concept for the left wing liberal socialist pinko commie geeks to understand, but not for most of us.

But Arizona State Representative Chad Campbell said something has to be done.
Indeed. DO SOMETHING! ANYTHING! Show the voters I care!

This is the state rep for Phoenix who:
1) would require background checks on all gun sales and require that person-to-person sales, loans and transfers of any firearms defined as "assault weapons" be processed by a licensed dealer to ensure a background check, and other requirements that would be imposed if the purchase were made from a dealer are met.
2) wants to restore the concealed weapons permit requirements that were in place prior to 2010.
3) limit access to firearms for individuals who the court determines are a risk to themselves or others and those who have an order of protection issued against them. The fine print says that if, IN AN OFFICER's OPINION, he deems you are unstable, your firearms will be confiscated and you will have to undergo a court-ordered exam to prove your sanity.

I wrote this ice-hole and asked him to please 'splain to me in detail, how even just one of these laws would prevent a massacre, school or otherwise. Just the facts, not feelings.
