Louis Freeh isn't "guilty by association with anything." He actively participated in numerous cover-ups and illegal actions as head of the FBI.
For example: whatever you may think of the David Koresh, here's an interesting fact that you may want to consider the next time you let Louis Free off the hook.
All evidence at the crime scene at Waco was destroyed within weeks of the raid that killed nearly all of the Branch Davidians. Why?
The medical examiner was denied access to the bodies of the victims. Why?
Film from various angles shows FBI agents firing on the Davidian compound -- which the FBI denied. The re-enactment of the crime was admittedly performed under completely different conditions from the original raid. To make it appear that the claim was false. Why?
For months the FBI denied they used incendiary rounds in the raid, several officers stating so under oath. When evidence came forward that incendiary rounds were used, the FBI admitted they had, indeed, been used. No agents were ever charged for perjury or obstruction. Why?
Despite that, and despite the fact that the FBI controlled all access to whatever evidence remained, and despite the fact that four Federal Officers were killed in the initial service of the warrant, and despite charging the remaining Davidians with murder, NO JURY has ever found a single member of the Davidians guilty of that crime. The initial (fabricated) gun charges were all set aside by later courts, and as of the end of 2006, no member of the Davidians was still in prison, four dead ATF agents notwithstanding.
Louis Freeh and Janet Reno are complicit in the murder of the Branch Davidians, and they destroyed evidence and fabricated charges to cover their guilt. That's not "guilt by association" that's real, filthy, dirty guilt. Luckily Federal juries were not willing to participate in their crimes.
At least we can be glad you recognize that Paterno has been declared guilty by association. Unfortunately for your moral compass, you seem to think that's OK.
