Officials with the radio industry powerhouse Clear Channel have followed in the footsteps of a conservative Washington talk station in concluding that a message regarding the Second Amendment is “too controversial” for people in the Washington area to hear.

“How ironic and maddening that the president is flying around the country, on our dime, trying to sell gun control but I can’t BUY air time to respond,” said Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Steve Vaus, creator of the Buck Howdy character. Ads by Google

“Today, Vaus said his request to buy airtime also had been rejected by Clear Channel, which operates stations WASH, WBIG, WWDC, WITH and WMZQ in the Washington-Baltimore area.”

Maybe it is not a good to let one company own most of the radio stations in one market.

If I didn’t know better, I’d think the left has been purchasing media companies and hiring only like-minded folks in order to squash dissenting views. Certainly the diversity and fairness wonks wouldn’t be doing something like that, right?

It happened in the DFW area. We used to have some real conservative stations on the AM dial. But around 2010 the stationed changed and the conservative stations were replaced my abc,NBC,SeeBS , crap. Even the local talk guys got bumped for mixed news, sports crap reporting.

They are trying to turn Texas Blue and it needs to be faught tooth and nail. There are also opposition papers they are launching to voice dissent at the local level.

Nowhere in the article does it have the content of the ad. It only has Vaun’s song. The stations said they would re-write the ad and with approval air it. There is nothing there that says they won’t air an ad about the 2nd Amendment.
Don’t let Whired Nuts Daily get your hair up about this.

You mean Commie-Fascist Red. It’s time for Conservatives to stop using the post-2000 Orwellian newspeak and take back “Blue” for ourselves.

We can't have adults engaging in a dialogue about issues politicians want a
monopoly on. 0bamaDaddy says "citizens are to be taxed and not heard."

Can’t be.

I clearly remember then Senator Hillary Clinton proclaiming that Dissent is Patriotic.

Isn’t she the smartest Woman in the World, or is that Moochelle Obama’s Wig Stylist?

Oh, there is no question what the left is up to. The question is why the right hasn’t been doing the same thing.

The left also has the internet. Conservatives need to have our own major news network as well as expand our number of stations. The power of television is just to much to ignore.

Not true. There are blue areas around Dallas and Houston as well as along the border.

Radio stations are part of the Media.

That should answer his quandary about why.

The Media is taking an active part in turning our country into shyt.
