GE 90 watt miser incandescent bulbs in stores
youtube ^

Posted on 02/11/2013 5:32:01 AM PST by dennisw

GE has new 90 watt Watt-Miser bulbs on sale now due to the 100 watt incandescent bulb ban. You can find them at Wal-Mart. They are rated at 1450 lumens. But if you don't mind paying more, GE also has 72-watt halogen bulbs (rated as "100-watt equivalent") which put out 1490 lumens, so with those you get slightly better brightness with less energy being used.

They were happy with the 100 watt ban, I’m avoiding rewarding them whenever possible.

never buy lightbulbs in a store, buy them online from a lightbulb store.

You can get bulbs that last 5 times longer for LESS money than the crap they sell at stores.

A few months ago, we got the 72W bulb and I am surprised at how much we really like the light. It’s bright, but easy on the eyes.

72W. Pretty smart, GE.

Went to Home Depot......no more 75 watt bulbs all phased out. Went to WalMart and they still had some 75 watt bulbs in stock

But even more surprising was 90 watt GE bulbs there called “watt miser” in soft white which seems to me a permanent deal. Was $1.67 for a 4 pack

I stopped using 100 watters years ago and 60 is my standard, but it was because of fire or some such, can’t remember.

Every penny spent on a GE product goes to strengthen a company that received over $1.2 billion in stimulus funds and has helped put Obama in the White House and keep him there.

Plus their products suck.

Just one question. Do either one produce enough heat to keep my engine block warm at 30 below like the faithful 100 Watt did?

At Walmart for example right now you can buy a standard bulb for around $2.15 that lasts 1,500 hours

(supposedly long life) lol

OR you can go to an online site like 1000bulbs.com and get a bulb of the same wattage for $1.78 that lasts for 20,000 hours!!!!

hm... 1,500 hours or 20,000 hours for less money... tuff choice!

skinny flat screens are the way to go. A major advance over the old CRT monitors and TVs. I see CRTs in the trash all the time...even the old geezers are moving to LED flat screens

Have boycotted GE appliances since the mid 80s. Krap.

They’re 72 watts because the 75 was banned from manufacture and import in 2013.

The 100 watt was “phased out” in 2012.

Oh, it’s not about controlling you, it’s for your own good!

Seriously? How stupid is it that our lives are so complicated by BS government regs that even buying a reasonably-priced light bulb requires research and persistent

No more 100 watt incandescent as of January 2012 so I hope you stocked up...I did and I can dump them on ebay at a profit anytime

75 watts are phased out as of January 2013

60 watts are out on January 2014
