Pack a gun, go to prison (semi-barf alert)
Chicago Tribune ^ | 12 feb 2012

Illinois and Chicago have many laws concerning the sale, ownership, use and transport of firearms. But they are widely flouted by criminals who regard their weapons as essential tools of business. Illegal guns, often brought from states with looser laws, are easy to obtain through straw purchasers and other black-market suppliers. Many of those guns end up being used in crime, often with fatal results.

Gun crime is concentrated among a subset of violent thugs who have serious criminal records. The challenge for law enforcement is how to identify and incapacitate these dangerous people to eliminate the threat they pose. On Monday, Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Cook County State's Attorney Anita Alvarez and police Superintendent Garry McCarthy offered some legislative proposals that hold promise.

It's illegal for almost anyone to carry a gun in Illinois — though a federal court has ruled the state has to set up a system to provide concealed-carry permits by early June. The Chicago police picked up more guns than any other department in America, netting more than 7,400 weapons last year. But even when criminals are caught packing guns and prosecuted, they often get off easy. The University of Chicago Crime Lab found that while the average such offender was sentenced to more than two years in prison, he served only one.

As I have been saying, the politicians deliberately leave guns in the hands of violent criminals, while trying to take them from innocent, law-abiding non-violent citizens.

“Illegal guns, often brought from states with looser laws, are easy to obtain through straw purchasers...”

How do we put the lie to this meme, that all we have to do is tighten access to guns everywhere, to solve Chicago’s problem?

But, if you put more Blacks in prison for gun crimes than Whites, it’s because you are RACIST.....

Not because of objective crime facts.....

Jesse and Al need to be confronted with Black on Black crime rates, and the simple fact that all of the government payment programs in the world won’t fix that.

:: Illegal guns, often brought from states with looser laws ::

Yeah, sure. I’d like to see those numbers.

This is just another way for The Ballerina to shunt responsibility away from him. He’s even tried to sue neighboring states for supplying the thugs on the Souf-side.

Ted Nugent to Attend State of the Union
Monday, February 11, 2013 06:43 PM

A Republican congressman says he’s invited rocker Ted Nugent, who has referred to President Barack Obama’s administration as “evil, America-hating,” to the State of the Union address.

Rep. Steve Stockman of Texas said Monday on his website that Nugent will be his guest for the president’s speech Tuesday night. Stockman has talked of impeaching Obama over his gun control proposals.

I don't know. I keep screaming to the conservatives who get a chance to go on national media to ALWAYS call out these types of lies, but the MSM is careful never to interview/discuss with people who would disagree with them. I guess we just keep calling it a lie both on-line and IRL. Don't be cowed by the Lefts propaganda.

This kind of “law” is ONLY used against the law-abiding non-criminal who has a gun.
Charges are invariably DROPPED when the gun is carried by a REAL CRIMINAL.

I was disappointed when Nuge moved away from me while I was in MI (his compound was about 12 miles from my house [around 20 to Crip’s crib!] and right along a road I traveled to work.) I had run into him in Jackson, MI several times, which was always a treat because he’d be with his stunnning wife. She ran interference for him with the fans, always acting as his mouthpiece.

(I pinged C51 since Ted strafes a Birdland neck)

Now, I’m living in Texas and, while Uncle Ted isn’t that close, at least we are in the same general area.

I feel politically safer.

I’m jealous.

I grew up just a few miles from where he lived. My cousin was dating his ex wife (Sandra) when she died.
