Dorner's truck found near associate's property, court records show

Christopher Dorner's burning truck was found near an associate's property in the San Bernardino Mountains last week, court records showed, suggesting that the fugitive former police officer may have received help evading authorities.

.................

A criminal complaint filed in federal court raises the possibility that Dorner may have been assisted by "a known associate," identified only as "J.Y."

The criminal complaint, filed late last week in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, does not detail the exact relationship between J.Y. and Dorner, a former Navy Reserve lieutenant.

But as part of a surveillance operation of the associate, investigators were watching a property last Thursday in the San Bernardino Mountains owned by one of J.Y's family members, the records show.

Authorities found a burning pickup truck nearby that turned out to be the vehicle allegedly used by Dorner in a Riverside County attack hours earlier that left one police officer dead and two others wounded, according to the court records.

Good morning.

What has Dorner been doing since he was fired?

Planning his order of battle since 2009.

I agree with you totally....Someone else drove it in and set in on fire....Lotsa dudes would do it for $500.

And the reward....Remember snitches go to jail if they participated. And the most someone could tell LE is "He went that a way".

I think he's in San Diego....where he knows the ins and outs of the area.

I think the boat incident was a red herring, too.

What are the chances he “chopped” out of there?

Footprints in the snow do not disappear.

OTOH, maybe he climbed a tree (I don’t know the area) and has been watching the LAPD from above, snickering.

About 30 minutes later, Dorner opened fire on Riverside police officers "who were in the area searching for Dorner," the documents said. On that detail, the account conflicts with a statement provided to the media by Riverside police officials, who said the officers were stopped at a red light and were not looking for Dorner.

Have you ever noticed how many versions of the thruth the cops have? Where is the attention to detail and clear communications?

I’d say he called his friend and got a ride.

If not burned, a tracking dog could have gotten a scent of the suspect to track. Just a possibility.

Wouldn't the tracking dog be able to pick up the scent from the recent tracks heading away from the truck?

"Nearest I can find -- working security jobs"

Thnx. I looked some last night but couldn't find anything beyond still being in the Reserves and living at his mom's home (divorced, no kids).

Makes some sense; Dorner seems to be intelligent and educated enough to get a better job, but his career paths could have been severely impacted by the policies of 0bama.

Animals are $hitting out Dorner as we speak. The guy is dead.

Dorner was a buffoon not cut out for the job. He couldn’t even contain the schizophrenic man, the woman officer had to bail him out and use Dorner’s taser. He almost got himself killed. He went out to confront a man with a gun who was out in the middle of the street without cover. The training officer said he lacked common sense and good judgment.

Dorner fancies himself to be John McClane, but he was a buffoon on the job.

Just wait until they take the stand in a court of law.

"Animals are $hitting out Dorner as we speak. The guy is dead."

That would be the best scenario.

An enhancement would be for his remains to lie undiscovered for a long time. That would keep the LAPD on their toes and looking over their shoulders.

"Footprints in the snow do not disappear."

Obviously you have never lived in a snowy area.

HIGHLY unlikely, conditions in those mountains are not severe at all, especially to anyone who has lived in wintry locales, or undergone specialized training, as Dorner reportedly has.
