What I remember is that Aburdene is a campaign contributor to Hagel through one of his PACs. But if you look further, you will see that Hagel has been part of a bunch of commissions to all parts of the world, and oddly enough the name Aburdene pops up among the other members of the commission. It is my guess that these are all members of the same family.

That old post reminded me of the Lebanese woman involved as the “socialite” character in the exposure of Gen. David Petreaus to draw heat off of the Benghazi abandonment scandal. She was from some notable big family in Lebanon. And she also had ties to Obama’s other new nominee for Sec of State John Kerry....
which brings to mind this administration’s habitual arms smuggling ...and this bit from Hagel’s past defending Iranian arms smuggling :
(ISRAEL CAPTURES THE IRANIAN VESSEL THE KARINNA A -— SEE HAGEL) There’s something very odd about Chuck Hagel. He’s been among a very small minority of Senators to vote against resolutions in support of Israel; and when the Israelis captured that Iranian vessel, the Karinna A., with arms destined for the Palestinians, he said immediately that we shouldn’t believe the Israelis, that they were just trying to stir things up against Iran.————72 posted on 01/11/2007 5:54:11 PM PST by BusterBear | To 6
