Jose Antonio Vargas, an illegal immigrant and former reporter, scolded a congressional panel on Wednesday, saying that he should not be called illegal, and saying it is an insult to his family who brought him here.
“When you inaccurately call me illegal, you not only dehumanize me, you’re offending them,” he said. “No human being is illegal.”
Mr. Vargas testified to the Senate Judiciary Committee alongside Chris Crane — a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent and president of the ICE agents’ union — who is unable to arrest him under the administration’s new non-deportation policies.
Mr. Vargas, who “came out” as an illegal immigrant several years ago, delivered an emotional plea for the country to legalize him.
“What do you want to do with us?” he asked the committee.
Last week, a top House Democrat also warned colleagues against using the term “illegal immigrants.”
“Our citizens are not — the people in this country are not illegal. They are are out of status. They are new Americans that are immigrants,” Rep. John Conyers Jr., Michigan Democrat, told colleagues on the House Judiciary Committee.

I like it. We have to learn to use the language to shape arguments, the way the left does. Problem is, they have the media to blare it everywhere.
Actually I agree that he should not be called an “illegal alien”. Yes, he *is* an illegal alien. But the expression has been overused in the public dialogue, which makes it muddled in the public mind.
The left wants to call them “undocumented immigrants”, and we should not let them get away with that, but instead, revitalize *in the public mind*, what they really are.
“MEXICAN CITIZENS”.
Let me demonstrate how radically different and downright offensive this guy’s testimony becomes when you change the wording.

He is one of a number of MEXICAN CITIZENS who have come out of the shadows to argue their case for UNITED STATES CITIZENSHIP.
He came to the U.S. to live with his grandfather, who was a UNITED STATES CITIZEN, but Mr. Vargas was never a UNITED STATES CITIZEN himself — a fact he found out when he went to get a driver’s license at age 16.
At least five other MEXICAN CITIZENS were scheduled to be guests at Tuesday’s State of the Union address, though each of those has been granted specific tentative legal status AS A VISITING MEXICAN CITIZEN through one of the Homeland Security Department’s programs.
We could just call him Non-legal.

Speaking of *self-deport*...went to the car wash for the first time in months. First thing I noticed is that a black guy (you know, the ones who don’t want to work /s) took my “order”. Next, I noticed that the drivers and washers - who are usually (human) illegals - made up about half of the staff. The rest of the “dryers” were either black or white. Hmmmm. Looks like American citizens are doing the jobs the illegals used to do.
I read somewhere he was a dream kid so he could not be arrested in the senate...
that means some other illegal alien adult snuck through border with him and brought him here when he was younger than 16...
then his illegal alien parents would have had more illegal alien children born here...anchor babies...

Mexico and the Third World are pushing north at a furious pace----visions of foreign aid tax dollars dancing in their heads. These are more of their Fifth Column pressure groups acting on orders from their homelands.
The Mexican government adopts one, very smooth, tone when speaking to its patsies in America---vote-crazed US pols---- and another, very militant, tone when speaking to its own people about its ruthlessness in pursuing its own national interest at the expense of ours.
As long as vote-crazed politicans continue to suck-up to hyphenates to get re/elected, this scam will continue.
He tried to get a drivers license with forged documents, and “claims” that is when he discovered he was a criminal illegal insurgent alien.
As if he didn't know that he snuck into this country illegally when he forged documents to get a DL.
Most of his family here are citizens.
And it took some of them 14 years of the process until they became citizens and were allowed to immigrate.
All these sneaky criminals should be made to leave the country for 14 years at least, and let all the ones trying to become citizens LEGALLY finish their process first.
Also what a disrespectful bastard he is towards his mother.
Who is still in the Philippines and he hasn't seen her for 20 years!
He should go back and live close to her if he has any respect for her.
