Sources in both parties tell me compromise in the works to delay vote on Hagel, but make it a 51 vote threshold not 60. Deal not done yet— Dana Bash (@DanaBashCNN) February 14, 2013

Kick it Charlie Brown ... I promise I won’t pull the football away!!!! ...
“Compromise” = “Republicans Cave”
Google says: Republic Ace
89-10.
Com-pro-mise
verb
1. To cave in
2. Loss of principle
3. Roll over
no balls .... Mitch...Senatorial Steer
Of course the Republicans will compromise . . . at the end of the day isn’t capitulation their real goal, and all the debate in the meantime is just a bone to the conservative voters who put them into office? We live under the illusion of a two-party system with this kabuki theater in Washington but at the end of the day the Dem and Repub parties are just one establishment party controlled by the ruling class.
And get nothing in return. That is to say, WE get nothing. They get to keep their jobs.
Poli-tics....
Def: Poli = Many; Tics = blood suckers.
You just got to laugh at the innovative ways the Rinos come up with to cave, LOL.
You know they're going to take the fall, but you never know if it'll be face first or falling on their a$$es.
So after every freaking rule is broken “via compromise” and no laws are enforced so long as the crime is worth over $1 billion, what the heck is left?
Oh yeah. Our country; headed there at head-turning speed.
Thanks Mitch!
Shouldn’t that be “Thanks, Venal Mitch”?
Thanks Mitch!
Shouldn’t that be “Thanks, Venal Mitch”?
One FReeper accused me of a “baseless slander” of the Republican Senate after I wondered which one(s) would turn at the offer of a juicy committee assignment or pork project.
“None will turn,” I was told...
I’ve been saying for years now, and I mean years, and years, and years we have to pull the chain, and flush the Congressional bowl. Keep pulling that chain until every bit of the self serving crap is cleared from the bowl, and start over with actual representation of the people.
Since the first time I ever wrote that online back at Lucianne.com many moons ago (I’d been saying it since Carter days) the TEA Party happened along, and now we have something, and someone in Sarah Palin, and some others for the hoped for leadership to get behind to push for what we want.
It still looks bleak, but we at least seem to have a direction to persue.
Chuck Hagels nomination for now is in suspension. Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has conceded that he does not have 60 votes for cloture Friday. If he does not, he will likely delay Fridays vote rather than lose on a cloture vote. (A loss on cloture would spur an onslaught of speculation regarding Hagels viability.)
I knew I had a good reason to tell that RNC solicitor, “not no, but HELL no” when she called last week wanting some of my money.
And Venal Susan Collins and any other venal RINO voting for cloture!
51? Pubbies will set precedent and will forever rue the day! When will the pubbies ever grow a friggin’ spine?
I saw that post. Got a hearty chuckle out of that “None will turn” line.
I’m keeping my tagline until things improve.
So we should stick with this stupid party and not go off and start our own WHY again, exactly???
Cloture = Kabuki
I have never see such a gaggle of geldings as the repubs (puke) in the Senate. They would sooner slice their own limp wrists before daring to take a stand against Obama.
Like Clint Eastwood recently said, “If those people in D.C. don’t care, why should we??”
And they wonder why so much apathy exists among voters.
I have yet to see a reason.
How about a compromise where he gets to leave town voluntarily, and not on a rail, and with only feathers and no tar.
Dana Bash Repubs say Hagel will be confirmed after recess so will vote no now. Dems want to make political point Repubs are blocking secdef
Really needs to be a total flushing. Otherwise the ones left behind will all be committee chairs.
In the words of the Joker, "What this town needs is an enema."
registered independent some 35 years. There may be individuals that deserve our allegiance and they may be in the republican party but they are too few for me to be loyal to the entire party.
“Really needs to be a total flushing. Otherwise the ones left behind will all be committee chairs.”
YES, that’s absolutely correct, and why I’ve always said the chain has to be pulled multiple times, meaning of course multiple elections, and back to back elections I might add to make certain we get every damned one of them out of office. It will take multiple pulls on that chain because they have different election dates, but get them ALL we must..
Damn them ALL to Hell!............
That’s not the definition of a “compromise.” That would be a classic case of a “cave.” But what would Dana Bash, AKA “Skeletor” know?
Chain the doors on the Capitol and launch an incendiary tear gas cannister in.
I don’t think the GOP has the votes to stop Hagel. McConnell won’t whip his troops. Their are enough squishy RINOs like Collins happy to go off the reservation to increase “bi-partisan” cred.
It really is night and day compared to how Reid runs things.
Will the Jews allow that? According to Hagel, they run Washington.
Phony republicans playing games.
Thanks Perdogg.
