Can you believe this ...Immigrant advocates.. They are accusing the Maricopa County Attorney's Office of bringing excessive charges against undocumented immigrants arrested for identify theft crimes.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio will not put with up this nonsense.. Illegals are getting to bold and demanding..

They got too bold and demanding years ago, and now we’re paying the price for those who REFUSED to see it!

Their penalty SHOULD be much worse, since they are not only breaking laws in indentity theft, but are also breaking laws by entering the country illegally.

Boy, does this ever piss me off.

I caution everyone on this thread to carefully distinguish between illegal aliens, who are here illegally and break any number of laws to cover their tracks, and LEGAL Latinos who paid their dues, patiently went through the LEGAL immigration process (or their parents or grandparents did), and now work or go to school here — and frequently vote Republican.

The first type of Latinos is the enemy and if they get a chance to vote, you know they’re going to vote for Democrats every time. The second type is our friends — perhaps the best friends we could ever have.

All too often, what we see here is the first type of Latino preying upon the second type of Latino by stealing their identities. For example, if you have a brown-skinned job applicant appearing at your small business, and he has an accent that’s clearly from south of the border, and he hands you a stolen driver’s license that says he’s “Patrick Murphy,” it’s pretty obvious that he didn’t obtain that driver’s license legally, right?

But if he presents a stolen driver’s license that says he’s “Alex Gonzales,” how can you tell whether he’s legal or not?

That’s why the illegals prey on the LEGAL Latinos.

And the LEGAL Latinos are VOTING.

As a party, we need to reach out to the LEGAL Latinos, say what we need to say in a manner that is sensitive to them, and take action to protect them from these predators. They will reward us with their votes.

Even for the folks who think no immigrant is illegal, identity theft is illegal in anyone’s book. Using an American’s ID to work should be deportation right there. I don’t want to pay for them to sit in a US jail, just pack them up. If I stole another American’s ID, they would treat it very seriously.

Deport them for life. Not only have they entered the country illegally, then have committed fraud by using another's identity and damaging that person's credit and credentials. Extract whatever financial remuneration is available from the thief and expel them forever.

Bryan: “I caution everyone on this thread to carefully distinguish between illegal aliens, who are here illegally and ....and frequently vote Republican.......” blah, blah, blah...

Save your PC lecture.

NO, legal latinos DO NOT vote republican. WAKE UP! Yes, there are a FEW who stand against amnesty and are our friends and neighbors....they are VASTLY outnumbered and the ones who suffer the most for this open border/amnesty nonsense.
LEGAL latinos, especially the previously amnestied and their anchor babies are mostly the ones in gangs and pushing AMNESTY. THEY have dual citizenship! Most recent ‘immigrants’ care nothing for you or this country or the rule of law.

Bryan, this thread and this subject is specifically about ILLEGAL immigrants. It is in the second WORD in the article. That is pretty straightforward.

What we need to do is caution against reinforcing the false impression that conservatives are against immigrants and immigration. That is a cudgel that the left uses against us quite successfully, even though it is completely false. Even saying things in the fashion you did reinforces their false assertions, and gives them ammunition.

Many conservatives ARE immigrants. They understand the siren song of liberalism better than most of us who were born here do.

“What we need to do is caution against reinforcing the false impression that conservatives are against immigrants and immigration”

Your point is well taken, however, this discussion has to also include...HOW MANY....How many ‘legal’ immigrants should we allow?

Over a million take the oath of citizenship every year.
There are dozens of different visas..student, work, hardship..
Then there are the refugees not counted by ICE, but handed out by the State Dept.
We are allowing about 4 million a year in, with virtually no screening.

A Day in the Life of USCIS”

[snip]http://uscis.gov/graphics/publicaffairs/DayinLife_050629.pdf (click here to see orignial document)

Some of the DAILY work of USIS according to their own document:

* Conduct 135,000 national security background checks

* process 30,000 applications for immigrant benefits

* Issue 7,000 permanent resident cards (green cards -PER DAY)

* Welcome 2100 new citizens.

* Welcome 3500 new permanent residents.

Does this look like we are not allowing enough “Legal” entries?

NO, legal latinos DO NOT vote republican.

Really? Then how did Romney get 27% of the Latino vote? How did Bush get over 40% of the Latino vote in 2004?

I look forward to your explanation. The ones who are here LEGALLY are likely to vote Republican, if we can just stop sounding like racists. Remember, any time we use harsh rhetoric against illegal immigration, Democratic operatives will be pointing and saying, "See that? They're racists!"

And they'll be saying it in Spanish, on a dozen websites and Spanish-language radio stations.

Stop handing ammunition to Democratic operatives. That's all I'm asking.

That includes immigrants from Poland, Russia, India, and 100 other foreign countries that are not in Latin America.

You're painting with a really broad brush, AuntB.

That's hilarious. I want our country to survive, but I also want our party to survive. If we continue using harsh rhetoric against Latinos, the Republican Party is dead. You can talk about starting a new party all you want, but actually getting it done, and winning control of the White House and Congress with it, would take 100 years.

If it can be done at all. Consider what we're up against.

The smart move is to reform the Republican Party and make it the Latino Party ... the party of LEGAL Latinos. If we do that, we don't have to give an inch on the issues we hold dear, such as the right to life, the Second Amendment, taxes and spending.

“Then how did Romney get 27% of the Latino vote? How did Bush get over 40% of the Latino vote in 2004? “

27%....you got to be kidding...that’s what you’re so proud of!
That really did a lot of good, didn’t it???

And BUSH...because he wanted to give them AMNESTY!!! You’re like most politicians....you care more about the foreign opinion than the vote of your fellow citizens. MOST Americans disagree with you!

I’ve been to Mexico! I don’t want any more of this country to turn into another 3rd world hell hole! When they stop marching in our streets, calling us names and carrying the MEXICAN FLAG, I might change my mind. MOST of our immigrants are LATINO...poor & ignorant and dropped right out of the 18th century and MOST of them on welfare! I don’t like white trash, or latino trash. We are nothing but a dumping ground for all the trash all points south want out of their own countries! Now, go try to convince someone of this nonsense who doesn’t know better.

40 million more Democrats and trillions and trillions in new spending on them is the result of any kind of amnesty.

I already loathe the GOPe, if they go for “immigration reform” pandering, they have lost me for good.
